Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterlands!🙏
This is my entry to the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge! This week's challenge is really fun because we have to pick one of the new Hall of Legends promo cards in our team, make a strategy and battle. Currently, I have 2 Hall of Legends cards but for this week's challenge, I've chosen a standard ruleset-based battle with Sanctun Vicar in my powerful team. I hope you will enjoy this battle and also learn something.
So, the total mana cap for this battle was 49, including the summoner's mana cost as you all know!
Summoner | details |
---|---|
Tarsa a summoner of the Fire Element whose mana cost was 4. This Summoner would provide +1 Melee attack and +1 Health to all-friendly monsters. This is a very good level 1 fire summoner especially when you have a medium to low mana cap. | |
Rule set (Standard: no modification) | Meaning |
---|---|
As its name suggests, this ruleset made no modifications to the battle. |
Monsters on the battlefield
1st position (Djinn Apprentice) | Ability |
---|---|
Mana cost of this monster is 5, It's a magic attack card, having no ability. I will tell you why I put it in the first place in my strategy. |
2nd position (Grum Flameblade) | Ability |
---|---|
Its abilities are Bloodlust and Void Armour. With the Bloodlust ability every time this card defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats and with the Void Armour ability magic attack hits its armour before its health. |
3rd position (Pallus) | Ability |
---|---|
Its abilities are Flying and Reach. With the Flying ability it has 25% bonus chances of evading melee or ranged attacks from cards that do not have the flying ability and with the Reach ability it may attack from the second position on the team. |
4th position (Disintegrator) | Ability |
---|---|
It has Demoralize Ability, which reduces the melee attack of all enemy cards by 1. |
5th position (Sanctus Vicar) | Ability |
---|---|
This is the hero of this battle. A Hall of Legends card that belongs to Water and Fire both elements having Ranged attack type with Cleanse Rearguard Ability, which cleanses the last allied backline card with a magic debuff. |
6th position (Mad Ogre Anarchist) | Ability |
---|---|
It is really a nice card having melee attack type and with Opportunity Ability. A card with this ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy card with the lowest health. |
I created my team by using 47 out of 49 mana caps with these monsters.
Now I will take you to the battlefield!
This is how the battlefield looked after all the monsters received their summoner powers. The first part of my strategy starts with the selection of the summoner where I first worked on making my team stronger by choosing Tarsa (A Fire Summoner) After that, to defend my team which was mostly filled with attackers, in the beginning, I put Djinn Apprentice in the first place because it had decent health and speed plus the magic attack type which mostly do not fail. Apart from this, the fourth-place card played its role in weakening the opponent through its ability. Sanctus Vicar is balancing this team with a different attack type between these melee attackers and Its own stats are also good for causing damage to the enemy.
Now let's see what happens on the battlefield!
Round 1 (Battle Begins)
Here my first place card died in just two consecutive attacks, although this was its job too, I had not thought that it would get knocked out so soon but it doesn't matter because my main attack team was still standing strong and the battle had just begun.
Round 1 (somewhere in the middle)
Here is a sample of my team of strong attackers! As I said, my strategy started with making my own team stronger. Tarsa gave my already fearsome melee attackers +1 attack power, after which one hit of my current first-place card knocked out the enemy.
Round 2
Here this new card Sanctus Vicar is also continuously attacking the enemy while reacting to taunting and till now not even a single attack of it has been missed which increases my dominance in this battle. Although I am still testing this card by using it in different battles but so far the performance of this card has been good and satisfying.
Round 2
This explosion of light is generated by the attack of my current first-place card. As per its ability, it is becoming more dangerous after every killing and now its attacking power has become 6 melee. Although now it has only 3 health left due to the continuous attacks on him, it is still on the battlefield and its one attack is enough to knock out the enemy.
Round 3
This time the final attack that knocked out the enemy was done by my second-place card (Pallus). It is not that this battle is only because of my first-place card. It is undoubtedly a super card but here my whole team is continuously weakening the enemy's cards which is also a very good thing that instead of depending on a single card, you make a team in which every card is significant.
Round 3
Finally, my most dangerous attacking monster died and now my opponent has 3 and I have 4 cards left. Many of you might know what will happen next in this battle but for those who don't know, let me tell you that as long as even one attacker is standing strong on the battlefield, the battle is not decisive.
But since I want you to not only learn something from this battle but also enjoy it, here is the link to My Amazing Battle.😎
Lesson
Having all types of attackers in the team also gives you an upper hand. Because you never know which of your attacks will backfire on you due to which special ability. For example, my opponent's Thorns Ability card caused a lot of damage to my melee attackers even without attacking directly.
That is why keeping Sanctus in the team proved beneficial for me. However, as I said earlier, I am still testing this card in different battles and hopefully, next time I will show you its bigger feats in a battle, but for now I can say that this card is also good, it would have been better if its mana cost was a little less. 😄
