Life sometimes could be a crucible of adversity, however, times like this allow the human spirit to reveal its most profound strength. Facing physical, emotional, or situational hazards tests our resilience and determination. These moments, fraught with challenges and uncertainties, can either break us or become the forging fires that shape us into stronger, more capable individuals. History is replete with stories of those who fought amid hazards, emerging victorious and transformed.
The "Noxious Fumes" rule set in Splinterlands can be metaphorically compared to a real-time battle or war situation where there is a pervasive, ongoing hazard affecting all participants. The battle ruleset in the Splinterlands game provides that all units are Poisoned at the start of the game. However, units with Immunity are not poisoned. This is a one-time application - units that are Cleansed, Resurrected or Rebirthed will not be re-applied with poison.
In the game, this rule set signifies a constant poison affecting all monsters. This can be likened to a battlefield scenario where there is continuous exposure to a harmful agent, such as chemical warfare, toxic gas, or a contaminated environment.
Every round, monsters take poison damage. This can be likened to soldiers facing ongoing exposure to toxic agents that weaken them over time. In this case, survival and endurance are highly needed. Soldiers will need to use protective gear (e.g., gas masks, hazmat suits) and access to medical treatment to survive prolonged exposure.
In the Splinterlands game, since abilities like Cleanse and Immunity are valuable for negating poison effects, decontamination procedures, antidotes, and immunizations can counteract the toxic threat in a real-time battle experience.
In Splinterlands, the "Noxious Fumes" battle rule set introduces a challenging dynamic where all monsters receive poison at the start of each round. This could be likened to battling through life's hazards. As I share a battle experience with the Noxious fumes ruleset, we can draw inspiration from those who have triumphed and explore how we, too, can harness our inner strength to thrive in the face of adversity.
On drawing this battle with the Noxious Fumes ruleset, the first set of monster units that came to heart wee magic monster units, however, the selection of monster units for this battle was highly limited by the low manna cap.
Two water monster units Hardy Stonefish (1) and Nerissa Tridawn (9) were summoned by Kelya Frendul summoner. My choice of this summoner was due to its addition of armor and speed to all friendly monsters. That is a balance of defense and attack respectively. Interestingly, all my monster units were without abilities. They were just ordinary monsters brave enough o thrive amid the hazard. See the screenshots of the rounds below.
The battle was a very shot one that lasted for just two rounds. Glad, we won!
Winning Strategy
When drawing this ruleset, here are some key strategies and considerations:
Use high Health and Healing monsters. Do well to choose monsters with high health to withstand the poison damage. Utilizing healing abilities, such as Tank Heal, Triage, and Self-Heal, will help to keep your monsters alive longer.
Use the cleanse ability. Use the Cleanse ability to remove poison from your primary tank or other critical monsters each round.
Know that monsters with the Immunity ability are unaffected by poison, making them valuable in this rule set. The resurrect ability can bring back a fallen monster, giving you an edge.
Prioritize speed to attack first and possibly eliminate enemies before they can inflict damage. High damage output is essential to quickly reduce the enemy's numbers.
Always balance your mana usage to ensure you can deploy a strong lineup that can survive multiple rounds of poison damage.
Note that proper positioning is crucial; place durable monsters or those with healing abilities in key positions. By carefully selecting and positioning your monsters, you can mitigate the effects of the poison and increase your chances of victory in Noxious Fumes battles.
