Prelude
Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Hope all of you are doing good. I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands throughout the week. Surprisingly, even after Rebellion is released for so long, this is the first time I am putting Helheim Demon into my lineup after obtaining a copy of it just recently. I have been rather against putting up cards that I do not own so when I finally got hold of 1 copy, I decided to put it to the test and see how good it is.
For new players or players whom have not obtain a copy of this interesting card yet, here is how it looks like:
I have decided to get a copy of this card because it shares very similar traits to Mycelic Slipspawn. And also with the consideration that many of death cards are generally lower in health, a ranged taunt will be good to keep the smaller death attackers alive. To me, even at level 1, with just 1 more mana, you get additional armour and also flying which is a really good deal. While at higher levels, it gains different abilities as compared to Mycelic Slipspawn, this card is equally awesome. I like it that it has corrosive ward as well which will help to wear out armoured cards from opponent since all attacks will land on Helheim Demon. Cripple is a good bonus at max level but the other abilities at lower levels already make this card awesome.
To know if this card is doing well in actual battle, the only way is to put it through a battle to find out.

Selection Analysis
For this match, since I've decided to put up Helheim Demon, I went with a death splinter lineup.
In terms of my selection, with this being a high mana match, I can afford to use cards that require a bigger mana. And typically such matches, I am not expected a lot of melee hence I opted for Harklaw instead of Cursed Windeku whom was better against melee cards. To support Harklaw, I have Arachne Thug with the reach to clear it hard from the front. Next is one of the key card of this lineup which is Revealer whom has the stunt ability and the specific ruleset will make it tough for cards that got stunned by Revealer. The next 2 cards will be something familiar as I have covered before in the past 2 weeks which is Ravenhood Warden for the protection to the whole lineup and the ever hard hitting Raa with the double strike, flying and scattershot. And in the final spot of the lineup comes Helheim Demon whom will anchor the end of the lineup, taunt attacks towards it and protect the rest of the smaller health cards like Ravenhood and Revealer.
On my opponent's side, my opponent went for a dragon summoner supported by life splinter as the secondary splinter. The lineup prepared a tank in Chaos Knight which has shield and can suppress a fair bit of damage. Next in the lineup is the big attacker, Chaos Dragon which can kill real hard and it has scatter, so it might hit my smaller cards even when I have taunt. Following in the lineup is Magi of Chaos for sheer magic damage and Time Mage for some speed debuff on my end. Opponent ended off their lineup with 2 hard hitting range attacker in Prismologist and Supply Runner.
Very different lineup, let's see who is the stronger side and also see how Helheim Demon perform. Let's rumble!
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - We are starting up in the heat as the match started with Helheim taking every single punishment onto it which latching on to a stunned Chaos Knight and dealing the fatal blow to it. The rest of the lineup no issue other than Helheim Demon whom took alot of big damage upon it.
Round 2 - Another super fast round with a job well done performance by Helheim Demon whom fell to Magi of Chaos. And with that Raa also started its rampage smashing home Supply Runner.
Round 3 - This is where everything just snowballed as I see a stun landing of Chaos Dragon. Raa just went wild with a double kill. First landing one hit on Magi of Chaos and subsequently a big hit on the stunned Chaos Dragon. Harklaw then join in the fun took out time mage. All we have now on opponent side is a sitting Prismologist.
Round 4, With just a sitting duck, clear it off is easy peasy with Arachne Thug taking the initiative because it is the fastest in the lineuup. Victory secured!
Battle Summary
I saw how good Helheim Demon was, it essentially soak up so much punishment that could easily knock out cards on my side with ease. The stun for Revealer was also really deadly where it allowed big hits to come from Raa as it took out many of the tougher cards in opponent lineup with 1 big hit. Other cards did what they supposed to and we got a nice victory.
Wrap Up
Helheim Demon is awesome and I am very certain I will be using it and possibly levelling it up to be able to capture the corrosive ward ability that it has. A great purchase and a great card added to my collection. And this card will also shine earthquake matches as well. A well run debut with a good outcome.
See you next time!
