Hello everyone and welcome again!
How are you doing with the new formats? I like them a lot, I think it is a much needed fresh air for the game and from this point is where we can start to build our decks as it should be. I loved this Share Your Battle because I got to use my favorite splinter so I enjoyed it a lot, let's see how I did with it, so welcome!
In case you don't know it...
Introducing Flying Squid!
Edition: CHAOS LEGION.
Rarity: COMMON.
Element: WATER.
Attack: MELEE.
Mana Cost: 7 points.
Abilities:
- REACH at lvl 1
- BLIND at lvl 5
- BACKFIRE at lvl 10
An as the lore says:
Although Flying Squid are not truly capable of flight, their moniker comes from their ability to launch themselves from the water and glide above the surface for long distances before resubmerging. These aggressive predators shoot ink into the eyes of their prey to blind them before attacking with their lengthy tentacles.
The Chaos Legion captain stood at the helm of the ship, gazing out at the empty sea. The sky was an overcast gray, and a brisk breeze ruffled his hair. A large flock of seagulls skimmed the surface of the water, flying ever closer.
He squinted his eyes. The birds drew nearer. As they did, he saw they weren't gulls at all. They were white, yes, but instead of wings and feathers, they had smooth, sheeny skin and tentacles that waved through the air.
From high above in the ship's crow's nest came the cry of alarm. “Flying Squid, twelve o'clock!”
The crew sprang into action, but it was already too late. Before most could reach for their weapons, the squid were upon them. The creatures fired sprays of ink, blinding the men and women below. Those that were able to take up arms flailed uselessly at the creatures, who stayed just out of each, striking with their long and muscular tentacles.
The captain drew his saber and swung at a squid as it whizzed at his head. He missed, and it shot a stream of ink into his face. His eyes burned, and the blinded captain wiped at them futilely.
A tentacle wrapped around his ankle. Another encircled his wrist. He struggled, but his other ankle and wrist were soon grabbed by more tentacles.
They began to pull him apart and, oh, how he screamed.
How to use Flying Squid?
The Reach ability is great because it is very easy to combine it with other cards that help it become more powerful, this card must be played in the second place behind your tank to activate its first ability, and when played at higher levels it is perfect because it has Blind, and that combined with its speed will make it dodge many attacks and Blind is perfect because it applies to all your cards and not just the Flying Squid.
And for last, My Battle!
Round 1.
A battle without Ruleset is perfect for the abilities to shine on their own.
Serpent of Eld is great to combine with this card and even more so at higher ranks, the speed of this card plus its dodge ability will make it perfect in combat.
Flying Squid in second position to support Serpent of Eld's dodge attacks with more damage to the enemy tank.
Deeplurker to use his Opportunism as a weapon to cause damage to the weakest part of the enemy team.
Scavo Hireling to repair Kelya's armor when she takes damage.
Ice Pixie with her magic damage to give versatility to the team.
Round 2.
Despite everything, the battle did not start well for me because my Scavo fell and I had not damaged any of his cards, but the Dodge began to do his thing and his Serpent of Eld was the first to fall while mine was still standing.
Round 3.
The importance of my Flying Squid in this battle was incredible, first because its extra damage was the difference to take advantage of my opponent and besides that, because when my tank fell the large amount of life that has this card makes it perform very well in the position of primary tank, and the best thing is that this is just a battle in bronze, in gold or higher I think it would stand out much more thanks to its other two skills, however it is an excellent card.
As I always say in these posts, all cards, no matter how good or bad they may seem, have their moments of glory and also their bad side, it's up to you as a player to use them as they should be and take advantage of them in your victories, play many battles, practice and you will become a better player little by little.
Thank you very much for reading my post, I hope to see you in the next one, see you soon!
