With the onset of current season soul bound reward cards came play. Like the name suggests, these soul bound rewards cards can't be transferred and are temporarily bound to the account which earned them. Simply speaking they can't be purchased from the marketplace and only way to acquire them is from Focus chests and Season chests.
Since we are just a couple of days into the season, so only a few of these soul bound reward cards have been printed so far. As more time passes more and more people are going to get their hands on them and may be a couple of seasons from now we are going to see them getting used in battles more frequently. This soul bounding will certainly push players to play more and advance up the league in order to quickly get their reward cards maxed.
Another good thing is multiple bcx soul bound reward cards gets printed from a single chest opening. This is especially a good thing for higher league players, as this makes there loot chests worth more. You might pull a common reward card, but there is always a chance of getting multiple copies of it in a single go. So it does indeed gives loot chests more value.
I have had two daily focus chests opening so far this season and haven't been that much lucky when it comes to soul bound cards. So far I have only got 5 different common soul bound reward cards. But the good thing is, they are coming in multiples.
Here is the list of soul bound reward cards I have pulled so far:
- FIRECALLER BCX 16
- SWAMP SPITTER BCX 9
- FUNGUS FLINGER BCX 9
- IMPERIAL KNIGHT BCX 4
- POSSESSED PUPPET BCX 6
That is slow progress since for now I am still stuck in gold league, but I hope once I advance to Diamond league more of these reward cards are going to come fast and with better rarity. A couple of seasons from now, I hope to get at least most of the soul bound cards decently upgraded. Till then I remain fingers crossed, busting my ass to get up the higher leagues as quickly as possible.
Martyr ability
So far Martyr ability have caught my attention. Apparently when a monster with Martyr ability dies it gives adjacent monster +1 on all stats. So placing Martyr ability monster in mid ranks would be a prudent choice in order to take full advantage of the ability.
+1 on all stats can be a great advantage most of the times. But in reverse speed +1 speed will rather be a disadvantage, so special care will be needed with Martyr monsters in case of Reverse speed ruleset.
Also it would be interesting to see Martyr ability monsters getting resurrected multiple times thereby giving +1 on all stats multiple times. In short Martyr ability can be termed as Redefined Bloodlust.
