Hello, Splinterlands friends and community! Today, I'll be sharing a battle strategy for the Back to Basics rule set, where all monster abilities are disabled. In this setup, positioning is important, particularly for ranged and magic units. Place ranged attackers in the backline, typically in the last position, or adjust based on whether you prioritize ranged or magic damage. Magic units are especially valuable because they can attack from any position, even when placed in the first spot. A winning strategy involves taking advantage of the power of magic attackers while supporting them with high-health melee monsters in the frontline. By carefully aligning your lineup and considering the available active elements, you can build an effective melee & magic-focused battle strategy line-up.

Set-up Plan Strategy

The rule set given is Broken Arrow a range unit that won't be able to be used in this battle, Back to Basics all monster abilities are disabled, and Unprotected all monsters have 0 armor and can't gain any armor with 42 mana cap water & earth element inactive. Since I won't be able to use range monsters and the death element is active in this rule set I want to use Thaddius Brood debuffing both the health and magic of the opposing side which is ideal to me because I assume that the opponent would likely prioratize of using magic monsters.

My Lineup

Thaddius Brood summoner is what I choose in this battle decreasing opponent magic damage and health by 1. The positions of my units respectively Pelacor Deceiver, Cursed Windeku, Djinn Muirat, Insidious Warlock, Magi Necrosi, and Magi Chaos. Pelacor Deceiver and Cursed Windeku will act as a tank, putting first position Pelacor Deceiver before Cursed Windeku because of the speed difference the Pelacor Deceiver has a high chance of attacking first with 5 speed, 3 melee damage, and 10 health stats making a good choice to attack in first position while Cursed Windeku has only 3 speed, 4 melee damage, and 11 health. If my Pelacor Deceiver is defeated in the first round and will hopefully turn to attack for the speed difference of the opponent and will act as a secondary tank for my team. The rest would be prioratize of magic damage Insidious Warlock, Magi Necrosi, and Magi Chaos this is the best damage dealer I've got with decent health.

Analyzing the battle

The opponent seems to have Lorkus Summoner a legendary card summoner that can give increased buffs to both melee and magic damage by 1 and has choices of Life Leech & Affliction or Trample and Fury to two units. The opponent chooses Life Leech and Affliction to Chaos Adjutant and Barashkukor. the opponent lineup is well displayed giving Chaos Adjutant and Barashkukor a Life Leech is quite overpowered because this ability can increase the health of the unit per hit by 50% of magic damage Barashkukor since it has 5 magic damage it can increase and give 3 health of this unit.

The opponent may have that Life Leech's ability, but it is still not enough damage to execute most of the units. My Pelacor Deceiver and Cursed Windeku did well protecting and surviving at least a single round and were able to attack the enemy target. Lorkus summoner and Barashkukor are quite expensive mana cost making the opponent easily defeated in this match. If the opponent uses some stats health instead Couerl Lurker which is again an expensive mana that costs 11 mana Deceiver and Cursed Windeku would be ideal choices for that with Lorkus present melee and magic damage boost that significantly more chances of winning opponent. Was lucky enough that the opponent didn't utilize well of the summoner and card choices. I dominate the opponent with magic damage, melee damage, and health difference. With this strategy, a well position cards based on stats are important in this Back 2 Basics rule set

Good strategy ^^

Thanks🤙

Thanks for sharing! - @yonilkar

One of my favorite cards in this Ruleset is the Rebellion Epic Reward Card: Shock Trooper 😄

Even at Level 1 it is very potent with four attack and NO DRAWBACKS in that Ruleset 😁

It's a nice card with this rule set, but it could be countered by buffs/debuffs summoners like the one that I use Death element Thaddius or Lorkus. Nonetheless, if the death element is inactive surely that card would be the best choice to deploy depending on the following rule set.

Thanks for your comment. ☺️

But you played Insidious Warlock...

Shock Trooper at Level 1 is better than the L6 Warlock you played in your team...

Shock Trooper at L6 is vastly superior to the Insidious Warlock:

However, upon looking back at your lineup - I see you are a Scholar.

You may not have access to Shock Trooper. But fwiw - Shock Trooper is kinda the 🐐 in this case.

Keep up the great battles and the posts!
