As we wrap up 2024, reflecting on its ups and downs, especially the new gameplay strategy and ecosystem, it's inspiring to see our passion for the Splinterlands community still thriving. Hello, Splinterlands community, and Happy New Year to everyone! Today’s blog will focus on the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge and share my New Year, New Goals journey. The key highlights include an Epic Battle Recap, a Reflection on Strategies, setting New Year Goals, and outlining a Plan to Achieve Goals in Splinterlands and on Hive.
Epic Battle Recap
This year has been filled with exciting battles, many of which I’ve shared through weekly challenges. My blogs often focus on battle strategies, analyzing whether they were effective and identifying strategies learned. Among those, one December battle stands out—not necessarily as the most memorable, but as an intriguing match due to the Four’s a Crowd rule set with a high mana cap. This setup encouraged the deployment of overpowered monsters, making it a tightly contested and fascinating match.

In this battle, I secured victory thanks to Swamp Spitter, whose Giant Killer and Repair abilities provided both critical support and ranged damage. My lineup, led by Lily Shieldpaw as the summoner, included a well-balanced team of Carnage Titan, Tide Biter, Swamp Spitter, and Syrenth, creating a strong synergy that ultimately advantageous the scales in my favor. It was a close, strategic match I think for my side is worth revisiting and interesting.

What strategies or card combinations worked well for you?
- My strategy is pretty simple and concentrates on adapting to the rule sets and utilizing the cards I have available. Since I play in the Modern League, my card pool consists primarily of Chaos Legion, Rebellion, Reward, and Soulbound cards. While some of these can be costly to purchase or rent, I focus on renting only the most useful cards to improve my chances in battles based on the rule sets provided.
My card combinations depend heavily on the rule set, but I prioritize building lineups with high-speed stats and well-synergized abilities that complement the rule set. This approach ensures that I maximize the advantages offered by the conditions of each match. Also considering what I would earn the win rate which is important to keep grinding like ROI (return of investment).
New Year Goals Splinterlands game & Hive
With Splinterlands and Hive blogging they offer a unique and rewarding play-to-earn experience that combines strategy, competition, and community engagement. Splinterlands allows me to develop my gameplay skills while earning valuable rewards, such as cards and tokens, which can be reinvested to strengthen my collection or traded for real value. Hive complements this by providing a decentralized platform where I can share my experiences, connect with other players, and earn through blogging and engagement like this blog you are reading now.
What are your goals for the new year? Are you looking to improve your gameplay, expand your card collection, or connect with other players?
My goal for 2025 is to focus on maximizing my potential in the Modern League format while earning and combining more reward cards, especially from the new Rebellion Reward set, as I have yet to acquire enough to fully max them. I also aim to refine my strategies and adapt more effectively to various rule sets, especially with the new cards, mechanics, and rule set updates introduced by the Splinterlands team in 2024. By staying adaptable and proactive, I hope to improve both my collection and gameplay in the coming year.
Plan to Achieve Goals
How do you plan to achieve your goals? Will you be focusing on specific card combinations, practicing new strategies, or participating in tournaments?
I plan to focus on building stronger card combinations that align with rule sets and maximizing the synergies between abilities. I’ll keep time to practice new strategies through regular battles, learning from both wins and losses to refine my advancement. Additionally, I aim to participate in brawls, tournaments, and events to test my skills against more competitive players and earn valuable rewards. By consistently engaging in battles, renting or acquiring essential cards, and staying updated on game mechanics and updates.
