The Wands Out rule set can be challenging, especially when the active element determines your available and magic unit choices. Usually, the Earth element is considered the best choice for this rule set, thanks to the summoner Immortalis, which counters magic attacks effectively and provides Void to tank units in the lineup. The Water element is another strong option, particularly if you prioritize speed, as its magic units are generally faster than Earth's and pair well with abilities like Swiftness and Phase to evade incoming attacks. Lastly, the Death element while less common, can still be effective depending on the accompanying rule set, with Thaddius Brood reducing both the health and magic power of enemy units by 1.

I've been using Runemancer Florre with Wands Rule Set, which in this unit Earth element is the best and most ideal choice for Wands Out. Paired with Immortalis as my summoner, Florre benefits from the Void ability, which counters opposing magic attacks, and her powerful magic damage makes her primary core damage both a hybrid of Magic-Range attack on the battle. Earth’s magic units often have higher health, ensuring durability, and when supported by Immortalis, Florre becomes even harder to take down. This synergy makes her dominant in the Wands Out rule set battle.
I will share a battle experience featuring Runemancer Florre in the Wands Out rule set. For this match, I used my scholar account in the modern format. While I don’t own a Runemancer Florre card, I rented it for the season at a very reasonable price, costing me just 30-50 DEC per day rent.

The rule set given is Wands Out and Aim True 38 mana-cap with all elements active.
For this battle, I selected the Immortalis summoner to take advantage of the Void ability, making it an ideal choice for the Wands Out rule set. The line-up I deploy is Regal Peryton, Venari Spellsmith, Doctor Blight, Goblin Psychic, and Runemancer Florre, with Runemancer Florre placed at the back to ensure survival and consistent attacks throughout the round. This unit's hybrid damage of 3 magic and 4 ranged makes it an important component of my strategy to overwhelm the opponent with damage output.
On the other hand, my opponent also used the Immortalis summoner, forming a line-up with Magi of Chaos, Queen Mycelia, Djinn Biljka, Spirit Hoarder, Goblin Psychic, and Mycelic Slipspawn. Their strategy focused on magic damage with strong healing support from Queen Mycelia, Spirit Hoarder, and Goblin Psychic. However, my team countered this effectively with Affliction from Doctor Blight and Goblin Psychic, negating their healing abilities. I felt confident that if Affliction triggered at the right moments, my line-up would have the upper hand.
As the battle progressed, my strategy with Runemancer Florre worked perfectly, overwhelming the opponent with superior damage. If the opponent chose stronger units like Doctor Blight or Runemancer Florre, paired with other powerful combos, the outcome victory might have been different. It seemed the opponent neither rented nor owned Runemancer Florre, which might encourage them to consider acquiring this card for future matches.
This is my favorite strategy for the Wands Out rule set because it combines the perfect balance of offense and defense, utilizing Immortalis’ Void ability to counter incoming magic damage, amplifying my own magic-focused lineup while also dominating the opponent in damage difference with Runemancer Florre, overwhelming them with damage while strategically countering their healing and survivability, making it both effective and satisfying to execute as plan.
What is your favorite and most interesting strategy for this Rule Set given Wands Out?
