Hello everyone! I am new to this community and found the contest post in my following feed. Thanks to @graciousvic for reblogging!
I've been a part of HIVE for about a year and a half now but I'm just starting to branch out to different communities. I look forward to reading your posts and taking a virtual visit to cities around the world. Good luck to everyone that enters!
Johnson City, TN
For this writing contest, I want to share with you one of the greatest places in Johnson City, TN which is King Commons Park in Downtown. I will also mention a hidden gem right around the corner from the park that many have stumbled upon. There are several spots around the perimeter to eat, have a drink or simply socialize. We also had the Blue Plum Festival in the park earlier this month.
"King Commons, completed in 2018 as part of a stormwater retention project to mitigate flooding, is a 3-acre recreational and event space located in downtown Johnson City. In addition to walking paths, this space includes an amphitheater, the Wildabout mural that showcases animals indigenous to our area, a playground featuring natural elements, and a history circle highlighting significant dates from Johnson City’s first 150 years." - Visit Johnson City TN

Right around the corner from the park is a little piece of history that is hidden out of sight to transport you back to the 1920s. I finally got to visit this secret place this past Wednesday night. I was very impressed. The atmosphere is vibrant and the bartenders are Artsy Mixologists that can whip up the most creative cocktails.
While I was there, I took a quick photo of my drink. I have never had such a fancy cocktail. It's called Alexanderia's Genesis. They also serve cold water at your table in old antique spirit bottles. Their snack menu includes a charcuterie board and shrimp cocktail.
Thank you for reading my post about the best place in Johnson City, TN.
