The calendar for today says to write about a relationship that you want to reconcile and since I don't have a relationship to reconcile, I chose to do a quote about reconciliation.
To me this quote means that if you truly want to reconcile with someone, you first must lay all your true feelings and be truthful about all things so that you can be forgiven first and then the reconciliation can be solid and whole.
