KOMSCO makes amazing pieces. There are very few mints that can hold a candle to what they make. This piece in particular is fashioned after masks worn in a horror series called Squid Game. I wasn't familiar with the series and ended up going down a long, disturbing rabbit hole to get context.
Squid Games is essentially a survival game created to entertain wealthy elites, by luring people with economic hardships to a remote island. They have to fight against each other in a series of games, with a promise that the winner gets to take home a massive cash prize. Each time a contestant dies, the prize money pot up for grabs goes up in value. It's incredibly morbid, so I'm glad I only read the summary.
Obverse
The design is a very simplistic polygonal representation of a human face. It's both simplisitc and yet elegant.
Reverse
The reverse is concave and shows the metal designation, purity and weight. These pieces can be removed from their capsule and stacked on top of each other.
Specifications
Weight: 2 Troy ounces
Purity: .999
Diameter: 50mm
The design is very cool, despite the morbid back story on what it was created to represent. The piece appears to have a slight antiqued finish to it. I'm guessing this is to minimze the visibility of any dings or scratches from stacking them. All in all, it's a very cool piece.
Each month, I give away a $1 Goldback or 4 HBD. The winner gets to choose.
Note: Some countries may have prohibitively expensive shipping or delivery, which may not be feasible. I reserve the right to award the winner 4 HBD instead of a Goldback at my discretion.
