My first post in the silvergoldstackers community

in #hive-136819last year

Hello, This is my first post in this community, so I would like to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my passion. I started to be interested in numismatics at the age of 13. It started with my father buying a metal detector. On one of my first expeditions with this device I found a coin, more precisely a 1 pfennig D from 1906, designed by Otto Schultz and Emil Weigand and that's how it all started.

I have had an account on hive for a long time, but I wrote little about numismatics, I was missing some place where I can share my collection. Now that I have found such a place I can focus on posts about coins. I collect mainly silver numismatic coins from Germany up to 1945, so I hit the premise of the silvergoldstackers community. In my collection I also have silver from other countries e.g. Poland or the USA. I also collect other old things such as militaria and watches.

Over the years I have collected some coins, unfortunately I sold a large part of them to put some money aside for a flat. Now I am slowly rebuilding the collection. After all, collecting numismatics most often stays with you for a lifetime. I hope that Hive will allow me to focus on this passion again and help me to collect a new, better and more interesting collection. I would like to start with my latest acquisition. Welcome!

2 mark 1913 A

25th anniversary of the reign of Wilhelm II

This is a commemorative coin minted to mark the 25th anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II von Hohenzollern. On the obverse we see the right profile of the last German emperor in uniform with the inscription "WILHELM II DEUTSCHER KAISER KÖNIG VON PREUSSEN". The mint mark can also be seen here. On the reverse, however, we can see the coat of arms, i.e. the crowned imperial eagle with a shield on its breast, and the inscriptions "DEUTSCHES REICH" and "ZWEI MARK". The coin was only minted at one mint, namely Berlin (i.e. the one marked with the letter "A").

Specification:

Alloy - Silver with a purity of 900, which is the most common sample of silver that was used in German coins during this period.

Weight - 11.1110 grams.

Type of side - Serrated.

Diameter - 28mm.

Thickness - 1.95mm.

Mintage - 1,500,000 pieces.

The coin cost me 120 zlotys, which means I made a good deal out of it compared to other pieces on the market in my country (Poland).

I wish everyone a fruitful hunt for silver and gold objects and a nice day, evening or night!

Zapraszam!

2 marki 1913 A

25-lecie panowania Wilhelma II
