Good day guys, hope we had a lovely weekend, and i wish us all a happy new week. i am back again, doing my thing, enjoying myself on the keyboard.

as we all know Gold mining is a global thing, done all over the world, and in every continent, but some countries just have more capacity than the other. China is the no 1 gold-producing country in the world, so today i will be looking at the top gold producing countries in the African continent.

1* GHANA
Ghana climbed up and remained at the top since 2020 after increasing its production and topping south Africa who was the top producing country in Africa before. Ghana now produces 129.2 tonnes with the help of traditional companies and artisanal miners, some of the largest are Kinross Gold (Chirano mine), Newmont Goldcorp (Akyem and Ahafo mines), AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi and Iduapriem mines).

2* SOUTH AFRICA
despite the decline in the gold production over the years in south Africa, they still hold the second position with a production of 113.6 tonnes in the latest data released. although their production has reduced over the years , they still have a reserve worth over 7 billion dollars and with a good policy that will drive more investors in, their production will surely grow in the future.

3* Burkina Faso
Taking the third spot is Burkina Faso, who has seen a massive increase in their production over the years and the increase in production doesn't seem to be stopping soon, with the amount and quality of mining companies in the country. they are currently producing 102.8 tonnes compared to the 62 tonnes they were producing in 2019.

4* MALI
The northwest African country of Mali produced more than 98.7 tonnes of gold in 2022 a massive jump from the previous year data of 63.4** tonnes in 2021 and this is enough to take the fourth spot on the list. gold is a very contribution in Mali's economy.

5* SUDAN
Sudan is home to some of Africa's largest mines, but Sudan gold is not fully utilized and they currently produce 85.1 tonnes of gold despite the potential and resources they possess, if they can pump more money, manpower, and technology they can triple their production within two years.
