I believe Blackbeard had his ship painted black to add to his fearsome reputation. Anyway, They appear like pearls but they are beads of pure silver and gold at the bottom of the bottle. 1 ounce of silver and 1/10th ounce of silver. The glass distorts the camera from focusing on the small beads decorating the 'glistening sea".
Creating a ship in a bottle is a delicate art of skill and patience.
