Tom and Jerry for Day 6

in #hive-1368193 days ago

After a few days of searching I've come to the terrible and shocking realization that the anime themed coins aren't quite as much as I thought they would be.
After the big 3 (Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball), seems the other shows don't just have enough fan base or media pull for the silver bullion community to take note of them.
It's quite sad and it also throws a wrench into the theme of my wishlist....
....still the show must go on!!!!!

Thus I decided, if anime isn't available, we can then add some more letters and make it animation/cartoon..

And there is almost no cartoon that's as well known as the duo I'm about to present.

Tom and Jerry 80th Anniversary 2020 silver coins

Iconic rivals Tom and Jerry were first drawn by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara in 1940 first appearing in the Metro Golden Meyer (MGM).
Since then, the popularity of the show grew to such proportions that by 1958, Tom and Jerry had appeared in 118 theatrical short films and has bagged Hannah and Barbera 7 Oscar awards.

It all kept going uphill from there, with the show being in constant demand throughout the years, managing to come though every decade with numerous spinoffs including The Tom and Jerry Show, Tom and Jerry Kids and then the return of The Tom and Jerry Show which has been with us for a while is so nice that nobody can deny it.

It's popularity is still riding song and on December 2020 it happened to get its very own coin.

This coin shows the classic image of Tom and Jerry, the original which everyone knows and loves. It also has the the Tom and Jerry logo, the inscription of 80 Yrs and the Perth Mint traditional P mark.

On the obverse, we have an effigy of the Queen Elizabeth II, the coins weight, fineness and the Monetary Deviation of 1 Dollar.

This coin as can be noted from the picture has a silver content of 0.999, weights 1oz and is Tuvalu legal tender .. (So rare is the money that this is the first I'm hearing about the state.)
It also has a mintage of just 2,500 pieces.
All these, plus the pure sentimental value that this has for the earlier watchers of cartoon helps brings the coin price to a 120$ amount.
A bit on the high side, but still an excellent and appealing round for pure lovers of this cat and mouse antics✨

Here is a personal invitation by @silverd510:

"Each day you post a gift that you would like to receive for Christmas. It needs to be precious metal related to qualify. The items can be something you’d like from our silvergoldstackers Secret Santa. Or they could also be something that you really truly wish was a possible gift."

These commemoratives tend to always be expensive, but they are cool. Tuvalu makes quite a few, but I think Niue produces the most of any country. I think the governments produce these to increase revenue to help out the citizens.

Yeahh

I've seen loads out of Niue.
Lovely designs always from them.

I could look at a wonderful design and guess at least 70% of the time that it's from Niue..
