I’ve had this since March of last year.
I had completely forgotten about this coin until I saw it on a dealer’s website. I thought to myself, ‘Wait, I have that coin!’ And sure enough,
Does this ever happen to you?
I created this blog mainly to document my journey of stacking silver and gold. Naturally, I feature most of my coins (i.e.,the single ones) as I receive them (they’re queued, of course).
I typically buy one, two, or three of each of the other coins.
I continue to add quarter-ounce American Gold Eagles, American Silver Eagles, and U.S. Constitutional Silver to my stack.
Being an American, quarter-ounce American Gold Eagles, American Silver Eagles, and U.S. Constitutional Silver form the core of my stack. In addition, these specific coins are the foundation of my stack because of their historical significance, widespread recognition, and investment value. For all other types of coins, I purchase just one of each or a few to diversify and enhance the uniqueness of my overall stack.

The SS Great Eastern was an impressive steamship
It was designed by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and launched in 1858.
Initially, the ship was intended for transporting passengers and cargo between England and Australia. Brunel envisioned it as a "floating city" that could sail halfway around the world without needing to refuel.
The Great Eastern's maiden voyage took place in August 1859, but it was marred by an explosion that caused significant damage. After repairs, the Great Eastern was converted into a cable-laying ship and successfully laid the first lasting transatlantic telegraph cable in 1866. This was a significant achievement in communication history.
The ship had a varied career, including serving as a passenger liner between Britain and North America, and later as a floating music hall and advertising hoarding in Liverpool. It was eventually scrapped in 1889.
The Theme
The ongoing series centers around historic sailing vessels, with each coin showcasing a different ship that played a significant role in maritime history.
