Before the Christmas season ends, I want to show you a coin, an addition to my Christmas-themed silver for the year 2024.
I have five Christmas silver added this year, and this is the last one. These are the Christmas-theme silver I have in addition to the previous years.
The coin was produced by the New Zealand Mint, famous for making high-quality coins. It is one of the top mints worldwide. The New Zealand Mint produces coins that aren't just currency— they're works of art. Their coins often feature intricate designs, high-quality materials, and sometimes even unique elements like colorization or precious gems.
The partnership with the New Zealand Mint gave Niue access to advanced minting facilities and talented artists, ensuring each coin became a masterpiece.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse have been one of animation's most beloved couples since they first appeared in 1928. Even though they never officially got married, their sweet romance has won over fans for generations.
2024 Niue Silver $2 Disney Mickey & Minnie Christmas
Mickey and Minnie's relationship reflects the sweet romantic ideals of the early 20th century. Mickey is usually the earnest suitor, going all out with grand gestures and chivalry to win Minnie's heart.
Minnie, while clearly fond of Mickey, keeps her independence and often plays hard to get, adding a fun tension to their relationship that has kept fans entertained for almost a century.
The 2021 design consists of a crown (representing the sovereign as head of state), mounted on a blue outer circle in the form of a traditional Niuean garland of 14 seashells (representing the 14 villages of Niue). The outer circle surrounds a green inner circle of hiapo designs, representing the fonua (land), within which are stylised designs of a tree, representing life and tagata Niue (the people of Niue). This sits upon a scroll bearing the motto "Atua, Niue Tukulagi" (God, Niue Eternally) and two katoua (cleaving clubs), representing defence and security. Between the outer and inner circles are the words "Public Seal of Niue".
