My silver stacking journey has begun

G'day silvergoldstackers community!
Now I have been interested in silver stacking as an investment for a while now and today my stacking journey has begun.

Now this is off to a very small start and as time goes by, I might blur the line of stacking and collecting...

But without further ado, here is my first 50% silver coin - a 1955 Australia sixpence.

The reverse has the Australian coat of arms featuring a kangaroo and emu with a shield and a star above it.

The Australian coat of arms has two iconic Australian animals and these animals are known to not be able to move backwards which is an interesting fact. So this represents Australia always moving forward.

On the obverse side there is a picture of a young queen Elizabeth II with the words "ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F:D:"
Which translates from Latin to "by the grace of God,Queen"

The diameter of this coin is 19mm and weighs in at 2.83 grams.

It's not much but it's a start!!

Welcome to #silvergoldstackers @vcclothing
Stacking begins with your first silver coin, though technically two coins or more is a stack with one on top of another.
1955 6 Pence is 50% or 0.500 fine silver.
I recall having a few silver Australian silver coins when my Father passed his collection to me. The coins were dated from when troops were returning from WWII along with a variety of European coins dated around that time.
I will be looking forward to see what you will share next.

These old coins have passed through so many hands over the years it's crazy to think about it!
