Actually, I had written this post for the Writing Prompt of the coffee community. However, when I just finsihed it and wanted to check the tags, I saw in the rules that only English is accepted. But I don't want to exclude my german language friends here again and I don't want to revise the already finished bilingual post. Then I remembered our good old Introduce Your City community and I thought, @freedomprepper would be happy about a posting there :-)
Eigentlich hatte ich diesen Beitrag für das Writing Prompt der Kaffee Community geschrieben. Als ich damit fertig war und die tags checken wollte, sah ich allerdings in den Regeln, dass nur englische Post akzeptiert werden.
Nun will ich aber meine deutsch sprachigen Freunde hier nicht schon wieder ausschließen und auch den gesamt schon fertigen zweisprachigen Post nicht nochmal überarbeiten.
Da fiel mir doch unsere gute alte Introduce Your City Community ein und ich dachte, @freedomprepper freut sich doch bestimmt über ein Posting dort :-)

Lovely Outside Cafe Places in Graz

( EN / DE ) "Whenever the weather permits, I would always sit outside in a cafe than inside."
This is the rather simple answer to the current question of the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community "The Coffee Shop Prompt"
"Wenn immer es das Wetter erlaubt, würde ich in einem Café immer lieber im Freien sitzen, als drinnen."
Das ist die recht einfache Antwort auf die aktuelle Frage der Cinnamon Cup Coffee Community "The Coffe Shop Prompt"

It's probably because here in Austria we don't have the opportunity to do so at all seasons of the year. That's why people love it so much and as soon as it gets warmer all the guest gardens (as we call the outside cafe sitting places here) fill up.
Es liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass bei uns in Österreich nicht zu jeder Jahreszeit die Möglichkeit dazu besteht. Deshalb lieben es die Menschen so sehr und sobald es wärmer wird füllen sich all die Gastgärten (wie wir sie hier nennen).

Today rather early in the morning I had to go to an appointment at the passport office and took the opportunity to photograph some of the numerous outdoor seating areas of cafes in my hometown Graz. For which and why we then have decided to drink our obligatory city stroll coffee you will get to know later.
Heute früh musste ich zu einem Termin beim Passamt und habe die Gelegenheit genutzt um einmal einige der zahlreichen Außensitzplätze von Cafés in meiner Heimatstadt Graz für euch zu fotografieren. Für welches und warum wir uns dann entschieden haben um unseren obligatorischen Stadt Bummel Kaffee zu trinken erfahrt ihr später.

The city center of Graz is crisscrossed by countless small passages, with many partially hidden courtyards. In summer, there is actually Italian flair, but today it was with 10 degrees Celsius, cloudy and light wind rather uncomfortable. On top of that, half the city is still asleep at 8am, most of the restaurants had not yet opened.
Nevertheless, I hope you like the little tour through the city center of Graz.
Die Grazer Innenstadt ist von unzähligen kleinen Durchgängen durchzogen, mit vielen teilweise versteckten Innenhöfen. Im Sommer herrscht hier tatsächlich italienisches Flair, aber heute war es mit 10 Grad Celsius, bewölkt und leichtem Wind eher ungemütlich. Obendrein schläft die halbe Stadt um 8h morgens noch, die meisten Lokale hatten noch gar nicht geöffnet.
Trotzdem hoffe ich, der kleine Rundgang durch die Grazer Innenstadt gefällt euch.

After most of them had just closed, a very old coffee house came to our mind, the "Cafe Muhr" in Herrengasse, the heart of the city. So we made our way there going through the main street of Graz.
The buildings there all have very long, narrow passages and also the pubs and stores are mostly rather long.
Nachdem die meisten eben noch geschlossen waren, kam uns ein sehr altes Kaffehaus in den Sinn, das "Cafe Muhr" in der Herrengasse, dem Herzen der Stadt. Also haben wir uns auf den Weg gemacht, durch die Herrengasse, die immer noch so etwas wie unsere Haupstrasse ist.
Die Gebäude dort haben alle sehr lange, schmale Durchgänge und auch die Lokale und Geschäfte sind zumeist eher länglich.

There it was, the "Cafe Muhr" had actually opened, even the seats outside were already decorated. Oh, it would have been nice, to sit there always has a special flair, but with the wind it was unfortunately too cold and we decided to go inside.
Da war es auch schon, das "Cafe Muhr" hatte tatsächlich geöffnet, sogar die Sitzplätze draußen waren schon dekoriert. Ach, es wäre schön gewesen, dort zu sitzen hat immer ein besonderes Flair, aber mit dem Wind war es leider zu kalt und wir beschlossen hinein zu gehen.

This cafe is just such a "hose" as I just mentioned. It is (and always has been) divided into three small sections, each with a different style.
Dieses Café ist genau so ein "Schlauch" wie ich ihn eben erwähnte. Es ist (und war immer schon) in drei kleine Bereiche unterteilt, die alle einen anderen Stil haben.

I was here very often in my school days, it was always crowded and mostly we sat here at the far end, but today it didn't seem appropriate to let the waitress walk so far back and forth in an empty cafe, so we chose a seat in the middle area.
Ich war in meiner Schulzeit sehr oft hier, da war es immer überfüllt und zumeist saßen wir hier am hintersten Ende, heute jedoch schien es nicht angebracht, die Kellnerin in einem leeren Cafe so weit hin und her laufen zu lassen, also wählten wir einen Platz im mittleren Bereich.

Have decided for Capuccino, because for the warm Italy feeling and the Gino coffee tastes very good and as always in Austria, a glass of water with a little biscuit or piece of chocolate is served with the coffee without asking for.
Habe mich für Capuccino entschieden, her mit warmem Italien Feeling! Der Gino Kaffee schmeckt sehr gut und wie immer in Österreich wird auch ohne zu fragen ein Glas Wasser mit einem Keks oder Stück Schokolade zum Kaffee serviert. An meine Österreicher hier, vermisst ihr auch so sehr das Naps, das es früher meist dazu gab?

That was really a very nice little journey back in time, decades back full of good memories and as soon as early summer is finally here, I'll come back to enjoy one or more of these wonderful guest gardens in the city.
Das war wirklich eine sehr nette kleine Zeitreise Jahrzehnte zurück voller guter Erinnerungen und sobald der Frühsommer endlich da ist komme ich wieder um dann einen oder mehrere dieser wundervollen Gastgärten in der City zu genießen.
