Hi Hivers in Outdoors and more community, what did you do for your weekend? I hope you had a good time with your family and friends. For me, I had a great time with my friends going camping overnight at a beautiful place. And in this post, I would like to share with you about it.
The campsite we chose is a long sand along Dak Bla river and next to Kon Tu Rang rice terraced field. The reason we chose that place is that it is near Mang Den town where we are living. Normally we prefer to go to a far place for our camping 🏕 . But the weather yesterday was not good, then we chose a near campsite. That said, it's really not that close. It's about 10km from the town, and located in the valley of Kon Tu Rang village, Mang Canh commune, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province. It's a poetic campsite at the bottom of Ngoc Le mountain, next to legendary Dak Bla river and Kon Tu Rang rice terraced field.
To reach the campsite, we first drove car there, then we had to left our car at a ranger station at the beginning of the slope before going down Kon Tu Rang rice terraced field. And then it was the hardest part of the camping trip. We had carry camping stuff (including camping equipment and food) from the car to the campsite. The slope is about 30° steep. Not mention that, we had to carry things over a suspension bridge and going down a dirt slope. Because of the rain last night, the slope was very slippery, some of us slipped and fell a few times. In addition, we had to cross a small river to reach the campsite. And you know what it took us almost 2 hours to bring all the stuff down to the destination. It was much different from the duration we expect for the transportation. By the time we reached the campsite, it was 6:30 pm, but luckily, we are quite experienced campers, and then it took about 15 minutes to set up things and ready for the chilled time.
After setting up the tents, the dining and cooking area, we start to cook. Preparing ingredients at home saved us a lot of time. We had grilled sticky riced cooked in bamboo tubes, grilled pork and chicken, bread, vegetable, fruit and raspberry wine for dinner. While we were cooking, it rained, then we decided to move our dining area and sit around the campfire for our dinner. It turned out a great decision.
It was quite cold at this time of the year in Mang Den, the sitting around a the fire and having dinner was so warm. Moreover, we could have meal and cook food at the same time. Then the food was always warm. And the raspberry wine is made by one of our team members. The raspberry season in Mang Den is in summer, and he made this wine from then. Everyone in our team liked the wine so much. It was raining for the whole night, but it was okay. We stayed around the campfire eating, drinking and chatting until around the midnight before going to bed. We used waterproof tents of Nature Hike, and it was good. I had a good and warm sleep.
After the night rain, the weather in early morning was very cold at the campsite. Most of us woke up quite early at around 6 a.m. It was great to waking up in a place in nature. What could be better to make a deep breath in such a beautiful place in early morning? After doing personal sanitary, we gathered the around the fire again to keep warm and for breakfast. Our breakfast was instant noodles, sweet potato and coffee, that's the best breakfast of the week.
After breakfast, we cleaned up the campsite and going home. And again, the carrying part was our tough job. Even though we finished all the food, we had to carrying things up the slope. We started to clean up at 8a.m., but we arrive our homes at 11a.m. Despite of a tiring journey, I had a great time at the weekend with my friends. It was my relaxed and resort time to start a new week. How about you? I hope you had a good weekend with great outdoor activities too. Thank you very much for taking time to read my post.
And finally I would like to send my big thank to @sjarvie5 for her recent post "22 ways to format pictures in posts". It helped me a lot, and I use some formats in this post. And because of that, I'm more than happy to give 20% percent of this post's benefit for her great contribution to the community.
