What's new?
HiveAuth integration
As you may know, Hive Authentication Services (HiveAuth) have been released today. You can read the annoucement here.
Engage is fully supporting HiveAuth and it will allow you to use the app on any desktop or mobile without having to enter any private key or password!
To be able to sign in with HiveAuth, you will first have to install (or update) Keychain on your mobile. You can download it here :

Once done, go to https://engage.hivechain.app.
You will see a login form:
Type your username and click on the HiveAuth button.
Engage will display a popup with a QR Code:
Notice the small animated red bar at the bottom of the form. It tells you how much time you have left to complete the authentication process. Your authentication request will expire after 60 seconds.
If you are on mobile, you can simply tap on the QR Code and it will automatically open Keychain.
If you are on a different device than your mobile, simply scan the QR-code with your mobile. This will also trigger and open Keychain.
Keychain will ask you to approve the authentication request.
Just click on "Approve" and go back to Engage. You will find you are now logged in!
Isn't it simple? All this without providing any sensitive information!
What is Session Validity?
A session is a connection:
- from one Device
- to one Application
- approved using one Wallet (Keychain).
It means that as long as you start the application (Engage) on the same device, with Keychain running on the same mobile you previously used to authenticate, you will no longer have to approve authentication requests.
Before approving the authentication request, you can choose how long you want your session to be valid (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month). Once this time has elapsed, you will need to authenticate again. This can be useful if you are borrowing someone's device or using a public computer.
If you manually log out from Engage, your session will automatically be revoked.
Support for StemGeeks.net client
The StemGeeks community front-end is now supported. You just need to go to the settings and set it as your favorite Hive client.
Vote value display
A long-awaited feature is now available: the display of the estimated value of your votes.
