Project: Distriator
Priority Improvements
- @starkerz suggested following changes to be addressed ASAP.
- Improvement 1: Allow only camera based uploads on mobile
- Improvement 2: Reduced image size & faster image upload
- Improvement 3: Automated business reviews
- Improvement 4: Add a new business suggested by @starkerz
- Based on the given priority, I had to switch to above tasks.
Improvement 1: Allow only camera based uploads on mobile
- We have stopped support for Photo gallery based image uploads because user may choose old photos for review.
- Distriator, now only allows camera based photo uploads.
Improvement 2: Reduced Image Size & Faster uploads
- Due to the better camera quality on most phones, we mostly end up uploading images higher than 3 MB to 4 MB.
- As you can see in the screenshot above, uploaded image is having size over 3000px & size above 2.5 MB.
- Expected image should be as small as 600px because it is only meant for a review-post.
- After applying necessary fixes, we did a test review.
- As you can see in the test review-post, image is actually resized & uploaded.
- After adding this improvement, we deployed it to production & did one more round of testing.
Improvement 3: Automated Business Reviews
- Business reviews should be autopopulated.
- For some reason, it stopped working & it used to work.
- After finding the root cause, we fixed issue & did a test-review.
- That test review showed up on the business reviews.
- It indicated that the bug is fixed, so we published the changes to production.
Improvement 4: Adding a new business
- @starkerz suggested to add a new business
- Based on request, with minimal details available, I added a business.
- Deployed changes to production.

- We added new bookmarks screen
- With this user can easily manage bookmarks
Hive Inbox Mobile App: List of Ignored Authors
- With this screen, user can view the list of authors which are ignored by him/her
- User can also remove authors from list of ignored.
- We are yet to work on removal of author from list of ignored.

Updates: Video Encoder Nodes
- I'm running 12 powerful video encoder nodes for 3Speak Community Members.
- Monthly internet bandwidth usage which exceeds 15 TB, Maintenance cost, Electricity backup, Internet backup, Depreciation cost - it's all on me.
- On 2024-07-24, 3Speak published total 101 videos.
- My video encoder nodes encoded 82 videos from 101 videos published.
- It means, my encoder nodes encoded 81.19 % of total videos published on 2024-07-24
