Updates on Project Distriator
Knowing the Server Status
- I was impressed by the way @techcoderx provides the statuses of the different nodes he is providing
- Upon reaching out to him, @techcoderx helped me to understand on how to implement it
- He is able to provide the status of nodes using uptime-kuma
- I spent a little time around this
- With this, we'll be able to provide the status of Backend of Distriator, FrontEnd of Distriator
CloudFlare Tunnels?
- As a Part of Distriator project, I put on several hats - Front-end developer, back-end developer, business-analyst (gathering requirements), Site Reliability Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and list goes on.
- But out of all of these, security of a server is utmost important.
- DDoS attacks, Server getting hacked - are just few examples which ruins day & night of developers & SREs
- So, today - over the weekend, I decided to do a little research & experiment on CloudFlare VPN/Tunnels so that we ensure safe & secure usage of Distriator website.
- As a part of experiment, I was able to deploy distriator-backend using CloudFlare tunnel to this domain - https://distriator-api.sn-any-device-software-solutions.com/docs/

Updates on Project 3Speak
Auto-publish script issues fixed
- @khaleelkazi from @leofinance reported that auto-publishing feature used to work for long-formate video.
- However, it has stopped working recently.
- After digging into the code, I found one typo which was accidently shipped to production.
- This typo was causing issues & it resulted into failures in publishing videos automatically for ussers.
- After the issue was fixed, I informed about it to @leofinance.
- We've not received any issues on that matter after that.
Updates: Video Encoder Nodes
- I'm running 12 powerful video encoder nodes for 3Speak Community Members.
- Monthly internet bandwidth usage which exceeds 15 TB, Maintenance cost, Electricity backup, Internet backup, Depreciation cost - it's all on me.
- On 2024-08-23, 3Speak published total 237 videos.
- My video encoder nodes encoded 216 videos from 237 videos published.
- It means, my encoder nodes encoded 91.14 % of total videos published on 2024-08-23
