This past week, my earnings have tanked. I am back to where I was before getting 1-3 cents per post. I have no idea what's going on. I don't know if I said something wrong or what. For those of you who don't know, I joined these sites in 2017 due to unemployment. At the time, I was unemployed due to autism. My struggle with how neurotypical people communicate (having to guess what the hell they want, because they dance around the point) instead of telling me, how I struggle to process verbal instructions etc would make a job difficult. I talk more about disability on my substack
I've gotten judgment from people who don't understand that all disabilities are different.
Due to chronic illness and how unpredictable it is, content creation, and freelance work are the only jobs I can do. At least while I build YouTube and other platforms, these sites are a good start. However, it's difficult to grow as a small creator. I did try to branch out in case I faced a dip on here, I tried the Amazon affiliate program, but I was unable to make the required sales. I started up a Patreon to offer early access to my content but couldn't get subscribers. Patreon or Kofi, you are not handing me money on a silver platter, It's like joining Amazon Prime and you get exclusive perks, benefits, discounts, etc. I have to give a product or service in return.
Seeing my means of getting on track slowly disappear has been depressing. I am trying to change up my content, but it's hard to pinpoint what people like with the sudden drop-off. If you like gaming, what games would you like to see?
Now, back to where I was.
If I say something wrong, tell me. I usually post my venting feelings on Dbuzz. It hasn't been working for 2 weeks and I think the team is done with the project
When I've asked for votes, people took it as me begging for votes and I've gotten harassed as a result. In reality, your votes tell me you like the content. If the content doesn't get votes, I assume you do not like that type of content and it will be uploaded less.
I see your votes as a way to tell me you like the content and want more. That or you like something close to the content.
I'm probably going to have to post a lot more frequently to try to see what content appeals to people. Or what type of games since I am a gaming channel.
I also need to experiment with different upload times to see what works. Even if everything is flopping, if a post has 10 votes when the last post got 5, I will have to go off of that instead of the earnings. If I don't upload when people are browsing hive, that could affect the performance as some people don't upvote older posts due to the value of their vote being lower (someone told me this on steemit if I didn't misunderstand them)
Maybe I should try posting in the AM and see how those posts do.
