Welcome to yet another edition of my 3d printing drama adventures,
In this one I talk about the drama with 2 of my printers
Let's start with my biggest printed, it is featured in the picture above with me sitting next to it, I am 6ft5 and as you can see this printer is huge but why is it on it's side ?
Let's get into the drama long story short, I updated the software on it when I was not supposed to do that, and this lead to me breaking the printed, luckily there is way to fix it but I needed to get an adapter to re install software on the printers memory chip.
The adapter was fairly cheap and I got it next day with amazon the next hurdle was having to take the whole bottom plate from this beast to get access to the chip.
Right above is the printers mother board with the chip
I took it out and put into the adapter plug into the computer and it's not reading
Let's try it another way, did I place some sexual stuff in the pic to get your attention maybe 🤣
Well that did the trick and I was able to reinstall the software and pop the chip back in, the good thing out of doing all this work was discovering this storage drawer the printer got 🤣
Drama #2
So this one was with my most recent printer it's not even a month old but I noticed it was leaking I pulled out the hot end and confirmed there was a leak, I got in touch with the companies support and they promptly send out a replacement, well I wanted to see if I could save this nozzle and not have to wait for the replacement
I plugged it in not fully installed started the heating and put a some paper towel to catch the goop a fair bit dripped off and the rest I wiped away with the paper towel.
As you can see it came out fairly clean but I broke the nozzle trying to take it off, oh well I didn't want to wait so I also ordered the part on amazon to get up and running the next day it's under 20 bucks for the part, a week later I got the one from the company too so now I got an extra nozzle.
These new ones should be better and not crap out so quickly either way.
I am at 5/6 printers working I will have one more to tackle the nozzle on it may have gotten worn and needs to be replaced but I will have to tackle that another time.
