I sometimes buy things at the grocery store for the nostalgia of eating it as a kid. Some things haven't changed a lot, like cereal. Honey Nut Cheerios, Fruit Loops, Captain Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, etc., have more or less stayed the same compared to what I remember having as a kid growing up in the 80s.
Even back then, some of the cereal was terrible, and not in a "yeah, this is bad for you but it tastes so good" way, but in a "the picture on the box makes this look way better than it tastes" way. Does anybody remember Cookie Crisp?

The box made it look so delicious. Yet, when you pour a bowl and take a bite, it's puffed corn with some small chocolateish chips that leave you disapponted even after a whole bowl full of it. And so, as an adult, I now look for opportunities to make up for these disappointments and "right the wrongs."
Trader Joe's has mini chocolate chip cookies in a big tub, and they're halfway decent considering they're not homemade. So what did I do? I made what Cookie Crisp should've been!
Take that, General Mills! I adultified your horrible kids' cereal and made it the way it should've been from the start!
And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go thoroughly enjoy this.
