I saw a picture of Scooby-Doo while going through Instagram yesterday. Instantly, some childhood memories came rushing back. I remembered how, as a kid, I used to visit my friend Damilola’s house to watch movies. We had a TV at home, but would prefer to his house because his elder brothers always had a fresh collection of exciting DVDs. I watched Scooby-Doo for the first time at his place. That day, I was so carried away by the adventure that I completely lost track of time, and my parents ended up looking for me when I didn’t return home before dark. I got punished for staying out so late, but honestly, it was worth it.
So I decided to sketch Scooby-Doo. Using my color pen and stroke techniques that I enjoy, I tried to bring the character to life in my own way. This simple drawing reminds me of how small moments, like watching a cartoon with a friend, can leave lasting impressions and how something as simple as an image can bring back so many memories!
