One picture with Childhood Memories

in #hive-1400847 months ago

Good day, Hiveans! The weather here in our place is like the mood of a woman. It was unexpectedly changing. When I woke up, the temperature was high, but in the afternoon, the weather was feeling blue. The clouds became dark, and the sun was hiding. Minutes later, it rains. This evening, the rain stops yet we feel the cold breeze. But still, the day has ended with good health.

I hope while reading my blog today, you’re fine despite the unexpected weather conditions. Today, I want to share one of my childhood memories of the picture shown. As I checked the saved pictures in Google Photos, I found this picture of the funfair (peryahan) and I decided to use it for today's blog.

The funfair (Peryahan)
A week before the town fiesta, a temporary funfair is established. It is one of the highlights of the town for the upcoming fiesta. People are very excited every time a funfair is established and I’m one of these people. Luckily, our town fiesta is in May, and it's school summer break. When I was young, I could spend more days watching the funfair. Sometimes I asked my parents for coins to play one of the games found in the funfair.

Out of the many games offered, one thing I loved was the ball game. When the ball is rolled to a platform with numbers you will guess what number the ball should stop. If you think it right your put-up money will receive an equivalent amount. For example, if you put 1 peso to the right number, you will receive 16 pesos. According to my cousin, this type of game had fewer tricks, when compared to other games in the funfair. I don’t know if it is right, since money is a concern, there are always tricks in every game.

I also tried a game where you throw a coin in an Excel-type platform where there is an equivalent value too. I think this game has lots of tricks, but the young ones don’t care since the coin needed to throw a 25 centavo when I was young. If you are lucky enough, you can win this game, but if not, you’re coins will gone in the blink of your eye.

The adult ones like to play a Bingo game. They loved this game because you would sit and put marks on a number that had been picked. There is no stress on the players of the game.

Now that I’m an adult, my excitement from before is not the same as what I feel now. This year, I did not even visit the funfair in our town. Maybe because, before our town fiesta was summer break but now, due to some changes, classes are still going on in May. So, visiting a funfair consumes more time than is supposed to be used for rest because there is a class the next day. I hope next year I can visit a funfair in our town.

What about you? What is the game you like to play in a funfair?
