Good day, Hiveans! Most humans think of the negative result without trying to do the task. For me, do the task first and only we can find if the result is good or not. We are not a fortune teller we can see what’s ahead of us, but we can be a positive thinker hoping that every result is a good one. I hope while reading my blog, your day is full of positivity.
In a previous blog, I shared how we traveled from Bogo City, our neighboring city which we usually visit because it has many establishments compared to our town. As we traveled, we captured some common views we saw during the trip.
The surroundings before we reach the city are far different from the previous years compared to today.
In the year 2000s, the common plant planted in our town Tabogon and Bogo City, and even the northern part of Cebu was a sugarcane plantation. Beside the road, all you can see is sugarcane. The land area is surrounded by sugarcane because it’s a common business of the rich who own the largest land area. The result, the work of the people in our town and other northern part of Cebu was sugarcane farmers. These farmers work even in a scourging heat to make ends meet. The good thing about them was they had a supporting family who would assist them in their work like bringing food for their lunch. Having a supportive family makes life easy too. If the Android phone had been famous this time, I could have used the beauty of sugarcane plantations on this platform.
But now, as you can see, lack of sugarcane plants in the area. The common reason would be no sugarcane farmers nowadays. There is no one left to follow the steps of their parents as the parents don’t want their children to experience their work as a sugarcane farmer. The parents tried their best to send their children to school so that children would not work in a scourging heat and work in a comfortable place with ceilings. The parents achieved the goal that most of their children work in a company, industry, or factory. Nowadays, there are lots of factories established in the country.
Last year, one of the companies that produced sugar was bankrupt. The company is closed now. This is because nothing of sugarcane to process, and no farmers were left to work on the sugarcane plantation. The impact of it was the price of our sugar rise and resulted in inflation.
I think this is a downside when farmers are lack of government support. If only the government focused on the improvement of our country, they would not forget the farmers. Farmers are a great help to minimize the inflation we experience nowadays.
Sometimes, I jokingly teased the lazy kids to stop studying and work on a farm since our country needs young farmers. If they do this, the price of basic needs like rice, sugar, and corn will be affordable and the government does not need to import goods. But the kids would oppose my suggestion since they want to work in a factory.
The bottom line is that losing farmers has a great impact on our economy. I hope the government can help promote farming to the young ones.
Thank you for reaching this far. If you want to inspire, learn, and witness beautiful scenery, experiences, and places, do not forget to follow, upvote, and reblog my post to support and motivate me to write more. Thank you.
