Imagine what it's like to spend your days without standing out, in the sense that no one notices you, you're almost invisible to others. For many this is a blessing because they don't like to draw too much attention, but for others it can be frustrating because they would like to go a little further and they strive to be noticed or perhaps have their abilities recognized. Ray is one of those guys who didn't stand out much in the crowd. Not because he didn't have talent, mind you, it was because he was always busy and couldn't give time to his other qualities. His quality is that he knows how to sing very well and has a personality that makes you fall in love, he transmits it in his songs. He prefers love songs, he doesn't like other genres that are more for other types of people.
Ray is from Scotland, born in a small house in the mountains, near green meadows. His parents were farmers and he grew up taking care of the cows and the chickens. He also helped his father a lot by sowing and growing carrots and lettuce. Later when he grew up he did not follow the family business, well at least not completely. His parents were farmers but he did not like that life very much, he preferred city life more. That is why as soon as he could save enough money he moved to the nearest village. But he did not abandon the family business completely. Now instead of sowing or taking care of animals he sold them. In the village market he opened a stall. In this stall he sold fresh fruit and animal meat. Both products were supplied by his parents' farm.
In this way it is as if he was contributing to the family business. His parents were proud of him because thanks to this stall in the village they could sell almost all their products. At first when he left the farm they were upset with him because they saw it as stupid to leave the family business that was already established to go look for adventures in the city. But now they saw that after all, he was always right. But moving to the town was not all rosy as his friends told him. It is not easy to live alone in a strange city where you do not know anyone, and even more so knowing that you have a family that loves you. Only someone who really wants to look for opportunities can do this.
At first Ray thought that his journey with the vegetable stand would be quick. He hadn't moved to the village to just sell things all his life. He did it because he wanted to better himself and maybe become a singer someday, that was his dream. But dreams are easy to tell, but making them come true is the hard part. That's why he had to open the stand, to earn money and little by little improve his life and at one point start his career as a singer. The problem was time, working in the market took up a lot of his time, he only rested on Sundays, and that was because the market didn't open, but he worked until that day.
His father's farm now depended entirely on this stand because in the area where it was located nobody bought anything anymore, so it had to be moved to the cities. This problem is created because the area where the farm is located also has other new farms now around it, and these often competed by lowering prices. So it was more sensible to sell outside. But in the end it was Ray who took on all this work, he did it gladly, but it limited him greatly in finding his ground, which was what he initially came to look for.
It had been about 5 years since he moved from the farm to the city. In all this time, not much had changed since he arrived. The only positive thing that had happened was that he met Jusi, a local waitress. They fell in love and ended up getting married. Then they had Pedrito, their only son. Everything was going well on this front, but his main goal was still unfulfilled. Now, with the family, he had more responsibility and, consequently, less time. So, that crazy idea he once had of studying music or singing could now be put out of his head. As for the vegetable stand, he expanded it and now he and his wife worked there. And in the future, Pedrito would also join them. Who would have thought, he had left a family business to start another family business.
To get to the vegetable stand, he had to travel approximately 32 kilometers. Ray did not yet have a car, so he took a public bus. Every day, day after day, he had to take this bus. Some days he was sitting and other days he was standing with another man's armpit almost touching his nose, but well, it was work, what could he do? But on one of these trips he found a way to bring back his dream, one that had been gathering dust for many years.
It turns out that one day he finally got to sit on the bus, and a lady sat next to him. The lady was carrying a baby in her arms. The child wouldn't stop crying and crying, and it had everyone on the bus's hair standing on end. Ray already had experience taking care of children because she had Pedrito. So he told the lady that the best way to calm a crying child is to sing to him a little. So with the lady's permission he started singing a lullaby. The child magically fell asleep quickly. So far there's not much of a surprise, but when Ray raised his head he saw that everyone was looking at him. And they started to applaud him. He was embarrassed, because at that moment he didn't want to draw attention, but the opposite happened.
Many told him that he had a future as a singer and that it would be good if he dedicated himself to that. The light bulb went on once again in his head. It seems that heads are popular today. XD. He didn't know that he had had the opportunity to sing in his hand since he arrived in the city. He could sing on the bus every morning. This way he earned some extra money and one day he could devote himself to this full time. When he got home that day he told his family about his experience, everyone was amused by the news. His wife told him that it was fine for her, that he should pursue his dreams.
The next morning he began his new career. Now every day he would sing on the bus on the way to work. This would earn him tips and make a name for himself. This may not have been his dream of being a high-profile romantic singer, but at least it was a start. The important thing is that he had now found an opportunity to make his goal a reality. Sometimes you just have to look around and you will see that what you thought was impossible was there, what you weren't looking for. Ray found attention, a lot of attention. Every day he met new people and many were willing to give him a tip. With effort and self-confidence he once again began the pursuit of his dream.
