INITIATION:
The biography of the man Peter Gregory Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, Nigeria. He became the people's choice of candidates who run for the presidential seat in Nigeria in 2023 national election.
HIS BIRTH DATE:
Peter Gregory Obi was born on July 19th, 1961 at Onitsha, Anambra State Nigeria.
HIS EDUCATION:
He studied at Christ the King College, Onitsha.. He had his B.A. (Hons) in philosophy in the years 1980 to 1984, at the University of Nigeria UNN, Nsukka.
Peter Obi obtained another certificates at Lagos Business School; Harvard Business School; London School of Economics, Columbia; International Institute for Management Development; Northwestern University, Saïd Business School of Oxford University, and the Judge Business School of Cambridge University.
HIS MARRIAGE / FAMILY:
Peter Obi got married to Margaret Brownson Obi (née Usen) in the year 1992. They have a boy and a girl as children, namely: Gregory Peter Oseloka Obi, and Gabriella Nwamaka Frances Obi.

He is a successful businesswoman and politician
He started in the banking industry, later he into politics. He first contested for the Anambra State gubernatorial office in 2003 under All Progressives Grand Alliance but he lost to Chris Ngige.

HIS POLITICS:
In 2003 gubernatorial election
in Anambra State, Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) presented Peter Obi as their candidate, he contested the election with Chris Ngige of the People's Democratic Party (PDP. National Electoral Commission declared Ngige as the winner. After about three in the office, Court of Appeal nullified Ngige's victory. that was on March 15th, 2006. Obi resumed office on 17 March 17th, 2006. But on November 2nd, 2006, the state house of the assembly impeached him after seven months in office. Virginia Etiaba, his deputy, immediately replaced him, That made the woman to become the first female governor in Nigeria. Obi, on the other hand challenged his impeachment and won. The Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu, re-instated Peter Obi back to office on 9 February 2007. Etiaba handed him everything after the court ruling.
Peter Obi left office again on May 29th, 2007 as lost the General Elections to Andy Uba who was declared the winner by the electoral body. Peter Obi came back to the courts once more, this time contending that the four-year tenure he had won in the 2003 general elections which just started to count when he took the office in March 2006. Therefore , on June 14th, 2007, the Supreme Court of Nigeria granted Obi's contention and returned Obi to office. This brought to an abrupt end the tenure of Obi's successor, 14th Apri,l 2007 election the Supreme Court which was in favour of Andy Uba was nullified on the grounds that Obi's four-year tenure should have remained undisturbed until March 2010.
HIS SECOND TENURE
On February 7th, 2010, Peter Obi was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in which he defeated Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the former governor of CBN. This election's victory granted Governor Peter Obi another four years in the office as the governor of Anambra State. On March 17th, 2014, Peter Obi served out his second tenure and peacefully handed over the leadership to Willie Obiano.
After the 2015 General Election, President Goodluck Ebere Jonathan appointed the man, Peter Obi as the chairman of the Nigerian Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS 2019:
On October 12th, 2018, Peter Obi was announced as the deputy to Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party's Presidential Candidate in the Nigerian. But their party did not make it.
NIGERIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2019:
It was on 24th day of March 2022 that Peter Obi made his intention known that he would run for the Presidential seat under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he later resigned and joined Labour Party where he was granted express access to run the position of president instead. Quoting Peoples Gazette Magazine, Peter Obi wrote to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on May 24th to resign his membership from the party. Obi reportedly complained of massive bribing of delegates and vote buying at the party's presidential primary, citing the existence of a party clique collaborating against him.
