Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! | Silenced Summoners Challenge in Splinterlands

in #hive-1400844 months ago

Hello, Splinterlands warriors! How have you been? This week, I took on the Battle Mage Secrets challenge in Splinterlands once again. The theme this time was Silenced Summoners, a rule that tests our strategy and ability to utilize monsters on the battlefield. I’m excited to share my experience in one of these thrilling battles, which could serve as valuable insight for those looking to conquer similar challenges.

Understanding the Silenced Summoners Ruleset

The Silenced Summoners rule is straightforward but can be a significant challenge. Summoners do not provide any buffs or debuffs, nor do they use or grant any abilities to the monsters on your team. This means that strategies that typically rely on the summoner's abilities must be completely rethought. To optimize my chances of winning, I chose to use a summoner with the lowest mana cost and highest level possible, allowing me to summon higher-level monsters without sacrificing too much mana.

My Battle: Silenced Summoners and Noxious Fumes

In one of the battles I participated in, not only was the Silenced Summoners rule in play, but so was the Noxious Fumes rule. This added an extra layer of challenge, where all monsters would be poisoned at the end of each round unless they had the Immunity ability or received a Cleanse from another monster. With a mana cap of 29 points, the available elements were Fire, Death, and Dragon.

My Team Formation

  • Summoner Level 3
    1. Grum Flameblade (Level 3)
    2. Venari Marksrat (Level 6)
    3. Forgotten One (Level 1)
    4. Scavo Chemist (Level 3)

Opponent’s Team Formation

  • Summoner Level 5
    1. Cursed Windeku (Level 4)
    2. Arachne Thug (Level 5)
    3. Dark Arborist (Level 1)
    4. Silent Sha-Vi (Level 5)
    5. Tenyii Striker (Level 4)
    6. Corpse Fiend (Level 2)

The Course of the Battle

The battle began with my strategy to place Scavo Chemist in the backline to provide Cleanse to Grum Flameblade, my main tank. Unfortunately, this strategy didn’t go as planned. My opponent had high-speed sneak attacks, which quickly eliminated Scavo Chemist in the first round. The other attacks weren’t strong enough to knock out the opponent's monsters yet, but at the end of the round, the poison effect began to take its toll. All monsters were poisoned, except for Forgotten One, who had the Immunity ability. Monsters with low health points were taken out by the poison.

In the second round, Forgotten One was hit by a sneak attack, but only its shield was damaged. At the end of the round, the poison struck again, knocking out Venari Marksrat, but not before it granted the Martyr effect to Forgotten One. This made Forgotten One even stronger, while the opponent was left with only Arachne Thug, Silent Sha-Vi, and Tenyii Striker.

The third round was the decisive one. The combined attacks of the three opposing monsters still couldn’t deplete Forgotten One’s health points, leaving it with 3 HP remaining. On the contrary, the poison effect from the Noxious Fumes rule eliminated all remaining enemy monsters, each of which had only 2 health points. Victory was mine.

Conclusion

The Silenced Summoners rule forces us to rely more on the individual abilities of monsters rather than the summoner’s abilities. Using a high-level summoner remains important, as it allows us to summon higher-level monsters into the battle. Additionally, in combination with the Noxious Fumes rule, abilities like Immunity and Cleanse become invaluable. This experience highlights that in Splinterlands, flexibility and strategic adaptation are key to overcoming the various challenges. Good luck, and may you succeed on the battlefield!
