Helping an old lady
Hello everyone, today a short article in the theme of fun Friday of the #freecompliments community. It happened this week while I was traveling.
A couple of days ago, as I was abroad, I was walking around Budapest in Hungary. We went to Margaret Island, which has a beautiful park. It's actually a quite big park on an island in the Middle of the Danube. I am not really a picture taking person so can't share images of the Island itself, nor of the story I want to share. So you'll have to do it with just my story this time.
We came from the Margaret bridge which is one of the bridges connecting Buda and Pest (and the Margaret island). We saw an old lady hesitating to take some stairs to go down from the main route to a path near the Danube. When we were approaching, she asked me something, I guess in Hungarian as I couldn't understand anything. Spontaneously I asked her if I had to help her, while showing my arm to give her an arm to go down the stairs. She smiled and nodded yes. A couple of seconds later, I was helping an elderly lady downstairs in a foreign country where I couldn't understand the lady at all. I really enjoyed the moment, as I was helping out someone and the lady was really smiling.
Wasn't funny in terms of a joke, more some kind of a beautiful story. So I interpreted funny Fridays in the broader sense of the word. After helping her down the stairs she said something which I couldn't understand and than waved while smiling.
Afterwards we continued our walk around the island. After some minutes we sat down at a bench and some minutes later the old lady passed us while waving even harder with a big smile. I guess she was really happy that we helped her. So, yea, in some way it was a funny story! ;D
