Welcome back to Three Tune Tuesday! This weekly event was started by @ablaze and he continues to sponsor the weekly event. I recently have volunteered to kick in one extra HSBI every week to the winner because it really is a lot of fun.
This week I really didn't know what I was going to put together. I usually have at least a bit of an idea, but not today. Then I heard a song on this morning by The Ramones and I knew exactly what I was going to do today, some nice early punk music. So I picked out a few classic bands and some of their best music for today's edition. I've always been a fan of punk music so this should be a lot of fun!
The Ramones
First up will be The Ramones since I already mentioned them. They were an amazing band out of New York that were one of the most influential punk bands of all time. Unfortunately all of the original four Ramones have passed away already, may they rest in peace. But their legacy lives on through their music until this day. Here's "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker":
The Clash
Moving on the the middle portion of the set. I thought I would go with an English classic punk band. The Clash were a band formed in London in 1976 and went on to fame in both Europe and the US with many catchy and fun songs. They only were together until 1986 after years of multiple hit songs and touring they disbanded for good. Here's a classic I'm sure you've all heard before, "I Fought The Law":
Sex Pistols
Last but not least I'm going with another English band formed also in London but a year earlier in 1975. The were only together for a couple of years until 1978 but became one of the most influential punk bands to come out of England. Drug use and infighting in the band led to their breakup but they left a legacy that influenced punk music for years to come. Here's "Anarchy in the U.K.":
