Taking it easy this week

Maesi has no issues with relaxing

As you can see in the image above (and those that follow below, lol) it's not something she struggles with at all. She loves sleeping through the day and it doesn't really matter where it is, although during the afternoon, she will catch a spot on the bed as the sun warms up the room nicely.

I can't blame her honestly, but what I find weird is how these cats prefer sleeping on the most weird (and uncomfortable) furniture over a soft bed or scratching post suitable for them to sleep on. Instead, I still find them on the mini scratching post we bought for the tiny little kittens at the time.

Health scare

As I shared on Friday, I was not feeling too well and in the end I got sent home with a referral to the cardiologist, a new medication to add to my regular blood pressure medication without any further info. The way they handled things lacked of professionalism because I had no clue when I should worry and get back to the doctor or hospital, I had (and have) no clue if these meds are great together or that I should take them in the morning, evening etc. It sucks not getting any info, heck they didn't even specify what they gave me in the hospital or at the doc's office. Let's say Google is my friend for the next week, but I surely hope the cardiologist will be more clear.

Trying to relax

While having tons of things to worry about, I was ordered this week "holiday" by my boyfriend as he knows I can get upset about things that are not that important or can wait a few days if needed. It's just a bit hard because you know it's not something I'm used to dealing with a heart racing out of my chest, lol. I'm trying to just keep it funny and realize I feel much better today compared to Thursday and Friday but I also know that every related symptom may scare me a little so short after the event of ending up at the ER.

A treadmill will arrive this week!

I'm so excited because it also has a massage belt which will (at least we both think) help me massage out the painful stuff in my back and hip area which I have a little more often with the colder days and nights. Maybe it's not what we expect from it, it's possible, sadly we couldn't test the treadmill anywhere so we had to take a gamble ordering it.

It could have arrived on Saturday, if we were lucky, but we weren't boohoo! It would have been great if it arrived on Saturday so I had a treadmill to shake off the little pinches and pains when I have them but now I will just mandatory go for a walk every morning until the weekend arrives and there's time to put it together. It will be fun to see if the cats will use it as a climbing toy for the night, lol.

Meditating

I'm going to force myself to meditate again as well because it's been forever since I properly did that every day, I'm thinking this is a great moment to pick that up again and make it a daily habit. For the rest, the aim is to not worry about things I need or want to do, there are enough groceries in house for every meal all week at least and replying to comments or emails can wait a few days if needed.

Either way, for now I'm going to find a chill tv show and not go to bed too late because I'm aiming to get up in time, even though I don't have to do anything this week.. I feel better being up in time than sleeping in..

Cheers to the treadmill and meditation goals. Been thinking on going back to running but it is raining hard for the past days here in our place hence I can;'t get out yet.

I have been feeling much better today until the evening when my arm started to hurt, I will just blame the height of the chair/desk though, just adjusted it.

I wish I could run, best I can do is a sprint lol, my knees have always been a HUGE issue for that, sadly. BUT I've noticed my knees became stronger in the past months so who knows what happens after I used the treadmill for a while. Right now my goal is just to get on it a few times a day to make sure I get at least double the steps every single day.

It's been shit weather here too at the coast, very wild wind which we notice in our daily steps, and I don't want that to be the excuse anymore. For my boyfriend it's just important because of his crazy long days, he just doesn't have time to get out long enough some days, so it will help him a lot having a treadmill in the next room.

Meditating is something that I always do for a while, and then I stop, lol. It's stupid I know, especially because Maesi forces me to "meditate" by making these vibrations while snuggling up with me, I should take her advice, she probably knows best lol.

Haha, they are crazy sometimes aren't they? Last week I heard a lot of noise and looked beside me, the other cat decided not to sleep on the bed but on the wooden night stand? She doesn't even properly fit!

The purr power is a real thing, she probably knew I needed it :)

Let's get back on track, indeed. May the weather gods be with you, I won't need them for the indoor walking from next weekend.. just this week during the day a little sun would be nice :) That's all I wish for, no rain..

Cat are amazing animals. I know that they’re one of those love them or hate them beings to a lot of people, but I think I fall in the love them category. Like you, I’ve often been left wondering at why they choose such interesting places for a nap - especially when their naps often last so long.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the doctors. Unfortunately a lot of educated professionals you could once rely on are now no more reliable than anyone else. I really struggle to find GP’s much better than the internet and view them as a stepping stone to specialists who still seem to know what they’re doing. Let’s hope that regardless of the incompetence of your doctors, the medication they’ve given you works really well and you’re back up to full capacity quickly.

It's indeed not that professional to not give background information to you. Or atleast tell you when you should contact a doctor. Maybe give a call to the hospital? Some nurses have helped me out in such cases in the past by atleast telling me 'the standard procedure' or some signs I should keep an eye on.
