Hello, gamers of Hive. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I shall share the final part of the Walking Dead DLC where Michonne finally gets her deserved peace along with Samantha, her siblings, and Pete's crew.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Michonne had a small flashback of her time on the boat with Oak. She surmised that her bringing alive was a gift, not a curse and that people on the boat cared for her. Later, when she came to, we found Randall, still stuck on the machine as he continued to instigate the people. Suddenly, Norma's voice was heard from Randall's walkie-talkie, she demanded her brother's safety in exchange for the captured crew of Pete. Michonne agreed. Back in the yard, Sam wanted to bury her father but Michonne didn't help her since she was in condition to do such laborious work. And finally, to prepare for some guests, Sam said that she had some weapons stashed away which tey could use on the incoming tangos.
James was also getting ready for battle as he tightened his grip around a gun. He said that he still could not believe that his brother and father were dead; now that they were about to fight, what was he supposed to do? Michonne calmed told him to be smart about stuff, that way he could survive.
Michonne, after picking up the stash of guns, went around the house distributing it until she met Samantha outside fortifying the windows. Sha had a choice: either approach her or leave.
The first thing MMochonne said to her after greeting was if she needed help. I should've apologised first for her dad now that I think about it.
I went back inside and found Randall strapped to a chair while Pete watched him closely. I decided not to give the gun right away and play the record player inside the room, a soothing music flowed through the house.
And then, Michonne talked with Pete about their course of action. Before I gave him the gun, I pointed out that running would not be a bad option like Paige was gonna do but Pete reminded me that Norma still had their crew captured.
Michonne turned to look at the living room but she jumped straight to her apartment floor. She saw her two daughters and ran toward her only to find herself further away from them. She asked them to come back as they entered their apartment.
She proceeded to open her apartment door but she came to the present time and opened Alex's room. She asked permission to enter, which was granted. The first thing she told him was that this room was his dad's idea.
And as their conversation grew, Michonne pointed out that his dad was dead but he did not turn into one of those things. I hugged little Alex while I wondered if telling the truth was worth it.
I went out and roamed the place further until I stumbled upon John's room where a letter was placed inside the drawer. I read it and found that it was a letter from John's late wife Sophie. She knew what was going to happen to her so she left a dying message for her husband.
Then, I entered Paige's room and found that she felt bad about leaving even though the Fairbanks were nice to her. So, I asked for the most sensible thing from her: to convince Sam to leave as well. Granted, they would not have anywhere else to turn to but at the moment the house was not the safest spot. Before leaving, I handed her a box of ammunition.
Sam came back after fortification was complete and brought out the kids to say their final words to their departed parents. Sam was still a young adult and did not know what to say, I made Michonne ask her to say what she meant to them.
After a brief moment of lament, a knock on the iron door came from Norma, asking for Michonne. Everyone ran inside and prepared for the impending battle.
She asked the kids to head inside and stay out of sight since Norma was not out to get them.
This was confirmed when Norma told that Monroe sank to the depths of the sea, all that she had built was gone. Now, she only wants her brother back. I could've shown Randall to her but I asked to see Pete's crew first.
Norma shot a flare, a signal for her crew to bring in Pete's crew. Unfortunately, it also caught the attention of the dead.
After they brought in the crew, Norma pointed the gun and asked that they see Randall. I could've shown Randall but I chose to hurt Randall and see what their reaction would be like.
I didn't realize that the game would punish me by killing Berto.
Sam pushed Randall from the back and opened the gate through him, which cleared Paige's view of Norma. She was busy controlling her people and asked that they stand down.
After that "misfire", Michonne asked that Norma control her people, I still had the opportunity to signal Paige but I just didn't take it.
To add salt to the wound, Gabby tried to take a shot at Pete and Michonne but missed both. Pete, with his swift reflex, shot Gabby in the head.
Moments later, a zombie sprouted from the forest which Rich killed signaling that they better get out soon or they won't be able to get out at all with their hostage. Norma was okay with one casualty per side and asked that Michonne choose quickly.
The deal was struck and the hostages switched sides but the moment Norma cut his cuffs, after watching the terrible beating his brother had suffered in the face and the hands, Randall dashed toward Michonne and speared her to the ground. They battled for the gun but Michonne overpowered her and shot him across the face and the bulled flew out his head.
Norma was distraught and asked everyone to kill them since her brother was no more. The raiders now had to worry about both the people inside and the zombies near them and as they kill more, the sound would attract more zombies.
I held them out for as long as I could until I ran toward the safety of the house as Pete covered for me.
Michonne was not exactly safe but she took advantage of the confusion and shot 2 of the raiders before Norma found her.
She was discombobulated for a few seconds as a shot from Rich came toward her and hit the stones which ricocheted toward her. Rich was bit and thus died but Norma came in to finish the job.
Norma ordered to burn the house while she tried to drown Michonne in a puddle of water. Michonne struggled and got the chance to kick and bite Norma's wrist.
Norma swung back in agony as Michonne slowly slid toward her machete. And just when Norma was about to shoot Michonne, Zach hit her with a tree trunk. Sadly, he was shot in the head instantly by Norma.
When she turned, Michonne had already lunged toward her with her machete and lof=dged it right in her right arm. Michonne cut it off clean but unfortunately for her, a zombie bit her.
Soon she was surrounded by the zombies. I had the opportunity to either end her suffering or leave her to die. I chose to end her suffering since having her die at the zombie's hands was not my motif. Considering that she was a leader of a community and looked out for everyone there, she didn't want much in return for the hostages, she was a good person just on the wrong side of things. The zombie had torn her apart.
Everyone was inside the house but the ones still alive had a grudge to fulfill. They threw Molotov inside and lit the house on fire, instantly, as it was completely made of wood.
She crawled her way, not to safety, but back to her apartment in an instantaneous flashback.
She fought with zombies on her way to the second floor only to be brought back into her apartment again. it was her husband, Dominic, on the phone. He said that he was going to take the girls since she was not present. The girls did not want to leave their mother but it was the best course of action.
She heard the cries of Alex and James from the secret room of Alex and opened it up. Sam came running from the other room in search of the kids and were reunited.
To get out of the place, they decided to use the window and slide down the tin. The kids were gone but Michonne was undecided. She was seeing her daughters begging her not to leave while Sam on the other side was asking for her hand.
It was up to Michonne. Either stay with her daughters and die or leave with Sam and live. I instantly chose to live since it was not her fault that her daughters were left in that apartment with their father.
They safely made it through the woods, with little to no injury.
There was a boat in the water, probably the raiders'.
Pete asked her why called for her daughters back in the burning building, apparently he had heard the calls when he was out looking for her. She said she saw her daughters and got to talk to them.
Pete pointed out that this trauma might be permanent and that she should take better care of herself. I couldn't say anything here since I know for a fact that it was probably true for Miconne's case. Finally, he asked her not to make the same mistake. She turned around and saw everyone leaving for the ship.
This is where the game devs decided to add specks of slow-motion, the eye movement of Michonne, and everyone walking in the distance. It all looked magical.
Before she started toward them, she found her children, in the forest, again. She reached out toward them but came to her senses.
At the end of the game, she was the one to have a cold cold walk.
And that's the end of the game series for me. Man, what a timeless gem this game is. I wish I could play this entire thing with zero memory of it. I hope this game stays alive till my kids as old enough to play it XD. Needless to say, this game was super fun, and the story just kept getting better and better over time. And, I super enjoyed every bit of it. I do wish to have done things differently, as I recall, but I'm sure those choices wouldn't have changed the main outcomes at the end of those episodes. I would recommend this game to my gamer friends; P.S. They haven't played this gem yet. I'll miss the thrills this game offered.
My Choices For Episode 3
Moving on, I won't be reading the volumes of what happened later on since I heard it was not as good as the previous title; Clementine leaving Aj back at Erickson is super uncharacteristic.
That's why I think I'll start the God of War Ragnarok in the hardest mode available next. I finished the first one in the hardest difficulty. And, I left Ragnarok after I was done with this series. Moreover, I have had enough emotion toiling for one game, it's time to pummel the enemies with the wrath of the god!
