Kratos is back again ⛓️ 🏔️ 🌨️ ❄️ 🪓

2018's God of War game is one of my favorite games that I've ever played. The funny thing is I didn't even play it for the first time until I got my PS5 in November of 2020. I somehow managed to wait two whole years before diving into the mythological world that Kratos inhabits and finally experiencing his tales of action and adventure. I fell in love right away and realized I had been sleeping on PlayStation's giant. It's no wonder many say that PlayStation has some of the best exclusives and single-player games are indeed not dying.

Taking a look back at my playthrough of God of War is pretty easy since I made several detailed posts about it at the time:

My first impressions

Using photo mode

Defeating the hardest boss in the game

Achieving 100% and the platinum trophy

It was easy for me to see that God of War was something I was nowhere near tired of after finishing everything it had to offer. It is by far the best game incorporating Norse mythology that I've ever experienced. Lucky for me, God of War Ragnarök was revealed right around when I was playing 2018's game. The only thing is, I had two more years to wait before I could actually play it. After being patient for so long, the time has finally come to see the next evolution of Kratos and God of War.

I've had the PS5 version of the game preordered for many months and I left its launch day wide open so that I would have plenty of time to play. My expectations were very high for this one, but Sony's Santa Monica Studios was very unlikely to disappoint. From what I saw before launch, Ragnarök is mostly the same game but expanded upon and with even better graphics. Oh, and there is the fact that the PS5's DualSense's haptics and adaptive triggers will increase the immersion even more than previously.

In today's video, I will be giving my first impressions of the game. As always, my reactions will be raw and recorded as I'm playing. I hope this allows you to really feel the excitement that I do when playing an amazing new game like this.

I will definitely be posting more about God of War Ragnarök, but for now I"m just trying to play more of this game. Are you too playing it?

If you don't yet own a PS5, don't fret. God of War Ragnarök is also available on PS4, but I'm sure it will be several years before it ever lands on PC. Xbox players, keep dreaming, it's never going to happen for you.

I'm predicting it now... God of War Ragnarök will win many GOTY awards.

Thanks for watching today's video and be sure to stick around for more coming in the future. I know this game is only going to get better and better as I p progress through the various realms.

Looks like a great game.

The funny thing is I didn't even play it for the first time until I got my PS5 in November of 2020.

I still have not played any god of war.

It's amazing! The old God of War games are cool, but these last two are by far the best in the series.

what a good friend it is also great for those who do not have PS5 can enjoy it on PS4

PS4 users have been lucky how many PS5 games also have PS4 versions still. It can’t stay this way forever though.

WOW, it looks so great, I remember the first time that I've played God of War in a PS2, and at that time it was a great game.

The GoW games have evolved so much since then. If you played them now, you'd be shocked at how amazing they are. Of course, you can kind of see that in this video.

I am loving it so far. The boss battles just seem more epic now than in previous games.

I love how they made huge battles much more frequent. Out of the ones I’ve played so far, they’re all amazing. I just know I’ve barely scratched the surface of this game after 3 or 4 hours. I’m still just now getting to the open part of Svartalfheim. I got way too high yesterday and couldn’t stay focused enough to keep playing 🤣😂

This is not a game I would be any good at if I tried playing it while high. I like open world games where I can just wander around and look at things if I am gaming while stoned.

I learned my lesson yesterday 😵‍💫

What an anxiety not being able to play it:( I've been watching a lot of the game, what an incredible story. I hope you enjoy it a lot.

I would be going mad if I was unable to play this right now. Hopefully, you get the chance to experience it yourself soon.

Fantastic graphics. The level of detail of the fur and bear moving in the wind and the action with the flying axe is super awesome to watch. Fighting looks brutal but a lot of fun. Was not expecting that twist at the end with Atreus and the Bear. Can't wait to see what happens next.

It looks even better when you're actually playing it, videos no matter the resolution, just don't do it justice. Brutality is the name of the game in God of War. Let's just say the bear transformation was not the only huge twist I've experienced so far.

Oh yea! GOTY!

poor Ferris! :(

His axe is so sic tho..

That was one BEAR or a fight! glad noone died.

Thanks bro!

That axe is godly, quite literally.
The bear was the first of many major fights like that. This shit is too good.

yeah!! it is finally out!!

the gameplay we see in the video is you playing the game?

This indeed is me playing. I have another God of War video with more of my gameplay coming later this weekend.

I only intended to listen to this in the background while I was doing some other stuff but damn it lol it was too good! I've never played GoW before but this game does look badass!

I can’t say right great things about this game. Looking forward to progressing further.

Dude, it was hard to meet expectations after the game in 2018, but I think they're doing a great job managing it. I also read @derangedvisions' post today and as I mentioned there, I'm watching the game from a youtuber. It really promises you a great 60 hours.

It will be pretty much impossible to beat the shock factor of 2018’s game. Even with those chances out the door, the game so far feels superior than the older one.

It’s going to be a lot of hours before I finish everything, but I look forward to all of it even the challenging boss battles.

two years to wait to play it, I imagine it was difficult all that time. It also unites mythology with video games

It was a long wait indeed, but well worth my time.

The graphics here are awesome. makes it look so real.

One of the best-looking games ever. I cannot wait to explore all of the various realms.

I think it's time to put my "little bitch ooooo I dont like God of War attitude" behind me 😂 like seriously

I wasn't a fan of the first few but fuck this looks good mate... Ive seen a few clips of it.. And the graphics 🤤🤤

Well I dont own a ps5 soo what the hell.. But shit it looks great

If you haven’t played 2018’s God of War, you totally should. It’s been free with PS Plus and I think may be currently as well. If not, it’s easily had for $10-20. Idk about PC though. Both that one and Ragnarok are playable on PS4.

They really changed the formula from the old GoW games. It’s not quite as hack and slashy and of course it looks insanely good visually.

Well, isn't GOW a PS only game??
Shit broh. I swear it is, isn't it?

In my opinion, the part released on PC deserves special attention here when it comes to games of the year. If anyone hasn't played it yet, I recommend this store because it's really cheap: https://royalcdkeys.com/products/god-of-war-steam-cd-key

Hello daltono
The game has good graphics. The bear you killed in the end was a giant. It's a good suit for GOTY for sure.

The only games I played in computer long ago were Max Payne and Spider man. After that I was never been to any PlayStation🤣🤣. Now a days just playing soft kind of mobile games.

It really is a gorgeous game. That bear came out of nowhere and I had a blast doing my best to survive against it. Reminded me of the movie The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio
