Most of the livery designs that I create in GT7 are absurd. I go all out trying to make my cars stand out like a sore thumb. I love flashy cars and this game gives you nearly unlimited creativity in terms of what you can do design-wise.
With my latest car, however, I decided to finally tone things down a bit. The latest update added a few new cars. One of which was the Mazda3. For some reason, anytime that I see one of these cars in person I think it looks so cool. They are not that special of a car, but for some reason I still love them. I think the overall styling of the car is just sleek and satisfying.
When I picture this car at its best, I think it should be blacked out. That is why I choose to go with an all-black design. I didn't want to just keep it totally black and nothing else going on. So I decided to add a slightly lighter black zebra print decal to the sides and back. It is subtle but adds some extra creativity to the car. I left the roof, hood, and front bumper regular black though.
Although this car isn't as expensive, fast, or flashy as most of my other cars, I still love it. This means it earned the same special treatment of being photographed in exotic locations around planet Earth. The beautiful locales are probably more eye-catching than the car itself, but that is the point. This thing is supposed to be a stealthy dark horse that most people wouldn't realize is track-ready.
I can't say this is one of my favorite cars in my GT7 garage, but that doesn't mean I don't have a love for it. Anything that I create I find a way to love. That totally sounds like something a god would say, but I do mean it. Improving my skills as a livery editor is something I'm always trying to do. The more different types of designs I do, the better I will become.
It's too bad I don't have a crew of racers to go head-to-head with and show off our cool cars together. Then we could take photos with our cars together on the track. Not that many people I know play GT7 besides my brother. You all are missing out though, I'm telling you. This is the most fun and realistic racing game that I've ever played. I'm dying to see what the PS VR2 version of this game is like. Too bad I'm not going to be dropping $550+ on a headset.
I promise that my next livery design will go back to my wild style of bright colors and striking decals. I can't stay tamed like this forever.
