DemoniCore update: Weekly leaderboard prizes (and bugfixes)!

in #hive-1402172 months ago

Hello gamers! DemoniCore is a new play2earn HIVE game where you
conjure demons to battle, and win DCORE for slaying them in simple turn-based RNG combat.

The last few days has seen more folks trying out DemoniCore - I can't tell you how grateful I am for your support! This influx of players has also kept me busy, as new bugs get uncovered and I try to fix them. I especially appreciate those of you who have taken the time to report bugs to me, since this is how DemoniCore will keep improving. You guys are awesome, and your kind words of encouragement keep me going!

Leaderboard Rewards
On Friday, I plan to release our first weekly leaderboard prizes - thank you @ady-was-here for the suggestion! Your demon slaying score is determined by the number of demons that you defeat, the Circle of Hell from which you conjure them (the higher the Circle, the higher the score), as well as by the demon's rarity.

First place will get 500 DCORE, Second place 250, and Third place 100 (EDIT: Apologies, I reduced the amounts from my original post, because this thread got me paranoid about in-game inflation, and I want to keep the economy strong). As the game matures, these prizes are likely to evolve as well, especially when NFTs are introduced (hopefully in the near future!).

Thank you for your love and support! For anyone who hasn't yet played, please give DemoniCore a try!

Be ready for the August edition of the Hive Power Up Month!
Hive Power Up Day - August 1st 2024

It sounds like an interesting game, especially given the subject matter, which, by the way, was very creative. But I hope the economy is as well thought out as the game. I've seen that they've started distributing certain amounts of the main token for winning battles, which is a mistake in any Play-to-Earn game. See for example some even on the Hive network, Terracore, Splinterlands, Golems and others.

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback @vicvondoom! I did look at HIVE games such as Terracore, Golem Overlord, and Splinterlands, to see what I wanted to emulate, as well as what didn't work, but this is my first game, so I'm sure there are things I haven't thought of.

DemoniCore has only one token, DCORE, for simplicity - As much as I enjoy Splinterlands, I don't like how they have multiple tokens that all compete for utility and value against each other. Another reason that DemoniCore only has 1 token, is that creating new tokens in Tribaldex isn't cheap (particularly if you want to enable staking), and I am operating on a shoestring budget :P

If it is a mistake to only use one token for a game, I'd love to understand the reasons why. When I have a little more pocket money, I would be open to creating another token, if it would result in a healthier game economy. GO and Terracore have fewer tokens than Splinterlands, but still more than one, which I'm sure is for good reason.

Looks like ya got things flowing better on the site, will be digging in more :)

Thanks for checking it out!

I am already in the game!

I love it because it is user friendly and does not require the investment of a lot of time. So I decided to play it. Thanks to @bulkathos for encouraging me and guiding me in my first steps.

Could you guide me with two concerns?

  1. I use the Linux operating system on my PC and the game is running too slow. I tried with different browsers and it goes the same way... it takes several minutes to open and every time I do a battle I have to wait for the screen to open again. Is that normal? Or is there a problem with using this operating system?

  2. I want to upgrade attack to level 3 and it sends me to refresh the page. Since yesterday I'm trying and it doesn't let me. Can you help me with this? I have the tokens required in my wallet. But I constantly get this note: "Please refresh the page before upgrading this stat"

3.Do you have a Discord server to communicate directly with you? 😊

Thank you very much

Thank you for playing, @alicia2022! I appreciate you taking the time to give me this feedback!

  1. I also use Linux, but as far as I know, the performance should be similar across operating systems, since it is a web game. If it is running slowly on your computer, then it will likely run slowly even if you were running Windows or MacOS on the same computer. I am sorry for the poor performance you are experiencing though, and now that I know this, I will try to optimize the game wherever I can!

  2. The note you are getting means that you need to refresh the web page on your browser and try again. If you reload the page, you should be able to upgrade the stat. Ideally the web page should not make you do this - in the near future I will try to make the page refresh more dynamically so that players won't have to refresh the page themselves!

  3. I don't yet have a Discord server, but you are not the first person to ask about this! I will set one up in the next couple of days, and will make a post to let everyone know the Discord invitation link.

Thanks again for trying the game, and for your valuable feedback!
