8. Mission: "Goalpost"
Es wurde davon ausgegangen, dass es sich bei den Giftgasanschlägen in Europa um Terror-Anschlägen handelte. Jedoch wurden diese bewusst durch die Russen durchgeführt, um die europäische Verteidigung zu schwächen und eine Bodenoffensive in Europa zu starten. Es konnten bereits weite Teile von Europa durch die Russen erobert werden, unter anderem Hamburg. Hierhin wird die Einheit um Frost gerufen, um den amerikanischen Vize-Präsidenten zu evakuieren, der sich zum Zeitpunkt der Invasion dort befand. Dies gelingt und die Einheit kann mit dem Vize-Präsidenten mittels eines Helikopters evakuieren.
It was assumed that the poison gas attacks in Europe were terrorist attacks. However, they were deliberately carried out by the Russians in order to weaken European defenses and launch a ground offensive in Europe. Large parts of Europe have already been conquered by the Russians, including Hamburg. Frost's unit is called in to evacuate the American Vice President, who was there at the time of the invasion. This is successful and the unit is able to evacuate with the Vice President by helicopter.
9. Mission: "Return To Sender"
In der neunten Mission spielt man Yuri und man befindet sich mit seiner Einheit in Somalia. Cpt. Price erlangte die Information, dass sich dort ein gewisser Waraabe aufhalten soll, der etwas mit den Lieferungen der Gaswaffen an Makarov zu tun haben soll. Man erhofft sich Informationen zu Makarov, sollte man Waraabe finden können. In einem offensichtlichen Frontalangriff auf die Basis von Waraabe, gelingt es der Einheit diesen zu finden. Nachdem er angab, dass er selber nie Kontakt zu Makarov hatte, sondern lediglich mit einem Viktor Volk, der sich in Paris aufhalten soll, wird Waraabe durch Cpt. Price erschossen. Bei Viktor Volk handelt es sich um den Bombenbauer der Gasanschläge. Die Evakuierung durch einen Helikopter misslängt zunächst aufgrund eines Sandsturms und Angriffe der Milizen, jedoch kann der Pilot des abgestürzten Helikopters wenig später geborgen werden und die Einheit flieht mit Hilfe von Jeeps.
In the ninth mission, you play Yuri and you and your unit are in Somalia. Cpt. Price has received information that a certain Waraabe is said to be in Somalia and that he has something to do with the delivery of gas weapons to Makarov. It is hoped that information about Makarov can be obtained if Waraabe can be found. In an apparent frontal attack on Waraabe's base, the unit succeeds in finding him. After stating that he himself never had contact with Makarov, but only with a Viktor Volk, who is supposed to be in Paris, Waraabe is shot by Cpt. Price. Viktor Volk is the bomb-maker behind the gas attacks. The evacuation by helicopter initially fails due to a sandstorm and militia attacks, but the pilot of the crashed helicopter can be rescued a little later and the unit escapes with the help of jeeps.
10. Mission: "Bag and Drag"
Da Cpt. Price nicht selbst nach Paris kommen kann, leitet er mit Hilfe seiner Kontakte in die Wege, dass Sandman und seine Einheit nach Paris verlegt werden, um den Auftrag zu erledigen. Man spielt demensprechend Frost. Paris ist teilweise unter Kontrolle von russischen Einheiten und immer noch verseucht durch die Gasangriffe. Nachdem man sich mit einer französischen Spezialeinheit zusammenschließt, gelingt es in einer aufregenden Verfolgungsfahrt Viktor Volk zu stellen. Daraufhin endet die Mission.
Since Cpt. Price can't come to Paris himself, he uses his contacts to arrange for Sandman and his unit to be transferred to Paris to complete the mission. You play Frost accordingly. Paris is partly under the control of Russian units and is still contaminated by the gas attacks. After teaming up with a French special unit, you manage to capture Viktor Volk in an exciting chase. The mission then comes to an end.
11. Mission: "Iron Lady"
Die nächste Mission beginnt mit der Evakuierung von Frost, seiner Einheit und Volk. Jedoch wird der Helikopter abgeschossen und stürzt ab. Daher muss die Einheit sich mit Volk durch Paris zu einem sekundären Evakuierungspunkt kämpfen. Hierbei springt man wiederholt in die Rolle eines AC130-Schützen, der die Einheit von der Luft aus unterstützt. Bei einem epischen Kampf auf der Brücke vor dem Eifelturm und einem Bombardement auf diesen, stürzt der Eifelturm ein. Kurz darauf kann die Einheit mit Volk über mehrere Helikopter evakuieren und Paris verlassen.
The next mission begins with the evacuation of Frost, his unit and Volk. However, the helicopter is shot down and crashes. The unit and Volk must therefore fight their way through Paris to a secondary evacuation point. Here you repeatedly jump into the role of an AC130 gunner who supports the unit from the air. During an epic battle on the bridge in front of the Eiffel Tower and a bombardment of it, the Eiffel Tower collapses. Shortly afterwards, the unit and Volk are able to evacuate Paris via several helicopters.
12. Mission: "Eye of the Storm"
Bei der Befragung durch Sandmann gibt Volk an, dass sich Makarov in Prag aufhalten soll. Da sich Cpt. Price und sein Team in der Nähe aufhält, kontaktiert er diese und gibt ihnen die Informationen. In der zwölften Mission spielt man daher Yuri und kämpft sich gemeinsam in einer Stealth Mission durch die feindlichen russischen Reihen in Prag. Hilfe erhält man hierbei von Cpt. Price und einer lokalen Widerstandsbewegung. Zielpunkt ist eine Kirche, mit perfekten Blick auf die Örtlichkeit, in der sich Makarov in wenigen Stunden aufhalten soll. Die Mission endet als Yuri und Soap alles für das Attentat vorbereiten.
When questioned by Sandmann, Volk states that Makarov is supposed to be in Prague. Since Cpt. Price and his team are in the vicinity, he contacts them and gives them the information. In the twelfth mission, you therefore play Yuri and fight your way through the enemy Russian ranks in Prague in a stealth mission. You receive help from Cpt. Price and a local resistance movement. The objective is a church with a perfect view of the location where Makarov is supposed to be in a few hours. The mission ends as Yuri and Soap prepare everything for the assassination.
13. Mission: "Blood Brothers"
Die nächste Mission beginnt, als Makarovs Konvoi vorfährt. Yuri und Soap haben Scharfschützengewehre und eine perfekten Blick auf die Örtlichkeit. Cpt. Price infiltriert die Örtlichkeit, jedoch stellt es sich als Falle heraus und Makarov wusste davon. Die Scharfschützenörtlichkeit wird gesprengt und Soap wird hierbei schwer verletzt. Außerdem sagt Makarov, dass er Yuri kannte, was Cpt. Price und Soap zuvor nicht wussten. Das Dreier-Gespann kämpft sich seinen Weg durch die feindlichen Reihen. Sie entkommen dem Hinterhalt, allerdings kommt für Soap jede Hilfe zu spät und er erliegt seinen Verletzungen. Cpt. Price fordert Yuri mit vorgehaltener Pistole auf, seine Vorgeschichte mit Makarov zu berichten. Das tut Yuri und Cpt. Price vertraut ihm vorerst. Die Mission bedeutet das Ende des zweiten Akts.
The next mission begins when Makarov's convoy pulls up. Yuri and Soap have sniper rifles and a perfect view of the location. Cpt. Price infiltrates the location, but it turns out to be a trap and Makarov knew about it. The sniper site is blown up and Soap is seriously injured. Makarov also says that he knew Yuri, which Cpt. Price and Soap did not know before. The threesome fight their way through the enemy ranks. They escape the ambush, but all help comes too late for Soap and he succumbs to his injuries. Cpt. Price asks Yuri at gunpoint to report his history with Makarov. Yuri does so and Cpt. Price trusts him for the time being. The mission marks the end of the second act.
Ein bewegendes Finale des zweiten Akts. Als Liebhaber der Modern Warfare Reihe muss ich gestehen, dass es mich etwas mitgenommen hat, als Soap starb. Immerhin spielte man Soap zu Beginn der Reihe, als er seine Grundausbildung ablegte. Von den Mission fand ich persönlich wieder die Missionen in zerstörten Städten richtig gut, also in Hamburg und in Paris. Vor allem der Moment, in dem der Eifelturm einstürzt, ist ziemlich episch. Was ist eure Meinung zum zweiten Akt?

A touching finale to the second act. As a fan of the Modern Warfare series, I have to admit that I was a little sad when Soap died. After all, you played Soap at the beginning of the series when he was doing his basic training. Of the missions, I personally found the missions in destroyed cities really good again, i.e. in Hamburg and Paris. The moment when the Eiffel Tower collapses is particularly epic. What's your opinion on the second act?
