I would like to talk about a chapter of Horizon Zero Dawn which is called The City of the Sun.

You may watch the video above to see the gameplay yourself and I bet you won't regret watching the gameplay.

The City of the Sun:
Main Quest: Aloy journeys to Meridian in search of Olin, the Oseram scrounger she met the night before the Proving. Somehow the killers targeted her through Olin's focus - a mystery she can only solve by finding him... and making him talk.

Screenshot (1).png

This new main quest started from the Carja Border Fort and I had to head to Meridian through that fort.

Screenshot (2).png

But first, I had to talk to Captain Balahn so I was walking towards the captain and I was watching the Fort while walking around it looked alive with all the guards and the peoples there.

Screenshot (5).png

There I've found Captain Balahn talking with Walid, a Carja Guard. I went near the captain and I interacted there to talk with him.

Screenshot (6).png

As Aloy was already informed that Captain Balahn had been to Meridian recently so she was trying to know what she can expect on the trail.

Screenshot (7).png

Captain Balahn said its bad out there with all the dangerous machines and then he asked Walid to say what happened with them when they were near an abandoned Nora village.
Captain Valahn asked Aloy to check if she can find their missing guards on the way and then Aloy forbade them.

Screenshot (8).png

Now before leaving for Meridian, I was having a look around the fort and there was this place looks like a diner where there were some peoples gossiping among them.

Screenshot (11).png

Before leaving Carja Fort, I looked back and checked on the fort from a far to see how it looks like.

Screenshot (12).png

Now its time for me to start the adventure. And I used this set up rope as a lift to go down fast.

Screenshot (13).png

And I discovered new hunting ground where I've found a side quest maybe about beginning the hunting trials but at the moment, I'm ignoring any side quests and I'm sticking to the main quest only.

Screenshot (15).png

After running a bit more, I've found an open ground with some big machines and they looked like big bulls with muscles.

Screenshot (16).png

These machines are called Trampler and they have time bomb beneath their stomach and I didn't understand about it first.

Screenshot (17).png

And I went close to one Trampler in thinking of looting the goodies after killing it. I targeted one machine and I kept watching its trail as I don't want to be caught.

Screenshot (18).png

Then I did a silent strike but the machine didn't die although it lost some health. Looks like bigger machine has bigger resistance. As it didn't die from the silent strike, I started hitting its weakness that's beneath the stomach.

Screenshot (19).png

And it blasted suddenly and then I understood that it was like a time bomb beneath the stomach and I shouldn't have been there after I trigger it and yeah I lost a life an I started fresh from the last checkpoint and this time I was ignoring the templars.

Screenshot (20).png

But I've found something bigger, stronger and scarier. It is called Stormbird.

Screenshot (21).png

Yeah its a flying machine with good resistance and it was fighting with some peoples there and I shot some arrows as well and it felt like nothing was going to happen to it so I left it with my mind saying, "I'll ride you soon".

Screenshot (22).png

Then I started running towards the location of Meridian.
It'd be good to have a Strider or a Broadhead to ride all the way forward but all I was seeing bigger machines that couldn't be overridden.

Screenshot (23).png

I noticed that herd of Stormbirds there resting on the mountains.

Screenshot (24).png

Then I headed back and there was the Stormbird flying which I tried to kill a moment ago.

Screenshot (25).png

Now I was about to cross a place called Lone Light and it seems I was still very far from Meridian.

Screenshot (26).png

This place looks good with the road itself. I was about to kept running towards the location but I couldn't when...

Screenshot (27).png

Yeah when I saw that TallNeck. Can you see that big giraffe-sized machine there? If not, stay still. I'm not going anywhere without taking a selfie with that TallNeck.

Screenshot (30).png

Being alerted, I was walking towards the TallNeck and suddenly I've found a big crocodile alike machine in the lake there.

Screenshot (31).png

As soon as I saw it, I hided myself in the tall grass and then I tried to check on it.
It's called Snapmaw and it has the similar weakness beneath the Stomach like Trampler.

Screenshot (32).png

I didn't forget to use the photo mode to capture a selfie with the Snapmaw there.

Screenshot (33).png

And the Snapmaw noticed me a bit and started walking towards me and I was there being silent cause I didn't want to fight with this beast.

Screenshot (34).png

But the beast has found me in the tall grass and I had to fight it to save my life.
It had very good resistance with big health and its attack was also much critical than what I've fought before.

Screenshot (36).png

But I defeated it after trying for a bit and then I looted it.

Screenshot (37).png

Then I moved forward to get a better view of the TallNeck and there was this Stormbird noticed me and I hided in the tall grass.

Screenshot (38).png

But the Stormbird came close to me and checked if it was right or wrong about noticing me. I became silent for a moment and then the Stormbird returned to its place.

Screenshot (39).png

And there came the TallNeck a lot closer to me and I wish I could go closer but I couldn't as there were a lot of dangerous machines around.

I showed this screenshot to @incublus and he asked me if its a Cyber Giraffe. Yeah we can take it as a Cyber Giraffe for sure but in this game, its titled as TallNeck: Copper Deeps and I'm not sure but I think I can jump on it and get a good view around while other machines can't harm me (just thinking, will check out later).

Screenshot (42).png

Well, after getting a good view of the TallNeck, I was again on the route to Meridian and I've seen some Broadhead just on the other side of the lake and I thought I'd take one so it gets easier to get to Meridian.

Screenshot (43).png

I went there and I overridden a Broadhead and it was easy for me this time.

Screenshot (45).png

Now I have a good ride and have nothing to worry about the distance.

Screenshot (46).png

Screenshot (47).png

I was testing if the Broadhead can pass the lake and it didn't disappointed me.
Then I started riding the Broadhead towards Meridian.

Screenshot (48).png

And I've found a sign that shows the way of Meridian at a point but I was not at the location yet so I kept moving forward.

Screenshot (50).png

Screenshot (51).png

I kept moving.

Screenshot (53).png

Screenshot (54).png

As I got close to Meridian, there was this bridge that looked fantastic.

Screenshot (56).png

Screenshot (57).png

Screenshot (59).png

And then I was at Meridian Village.

Screenshot (60).png

Unfortunately I couldn't take the Broadhead with me inside the village so I left it there thinking I may find it later.

Screenshot (62).png

And I was running to the other side of the big bridge to get to the village and I see there were a lot of guards on the bridge.

Screenshot (63).png

Screenshot (64).png

I was at the gate of the village and the guard there stopped me and said I can't get inside as there's problem.

Screenshot (65).png

At that very moment, there was Erend greeted me and ordered the guard to let me in anytime I come here and he was surprised seeing me alive cause he heard the news about the massacre in the proving.

After talking with Erend about Olin, he asked me to follow him to the apartment of Olin.

Screenshot (69).png

This is Olin's apartment and now I had the chance to investigate this apartment without breaking anything.

Screenshot (70).png

Screenshot (71).png

I've found this door to the passage beneath the apartment but it was sealed hard and I needed the key to open it.

Screenshot (72).png

Screenshot (73).png

After searching the apartment for more times, I've found this and I used it to break the door open.

Screenshot (74).png

And it did its work.

Screenshot (75).png

After getting inside the secret workshop, I've found a journal of Olin.

Screenshot (76).png

Screenshot (77).png

And there was this device that I interacted with my focus and I got to know that Olin was threatened that his wife and daughter will die if he don't do as the enemies asks to.

So Olin is not a monster, he was just trying to save his family.

Screenshot (78).png

Then I've found a map and that map gave me the location where Olin might be.

Screenshot (79).png

I left to find Olin at the Excavation site.
The Broadhead that I left at the outside of the village was not there anymore so I started running on feet.

Screenshot (82).png

And then I've found a hunting ground with some Broadhead and I overridden one and I started riding it.

Screenshot (83).png

While riding, there were these Deer like machines running beside me and this scene looked really awesome.

Screenshot (84).png

Screenshot (85).png

There were these Snapmaw and a machine similar to a spider that noticed me but couldn't do anything as I was on run.

Screenshot (86).png

Some Cultist peoples and some machine even tried to attack me but I left the place.

Screenshot (89).png

Screenshot (90).png

Screenshot (91).png

There were a lot of machines and I couldn't keep up with them while I was on the Broadhead that was making a lot of sounds. I even tried to fight the big spider look alike machines and there were cultist peoples as well and I had to give up.

Then I tried again leaving the Broadhead behind and I walked towards the Excavation site quietly and at last I could reach there.

Screenshot (92).png

Screenshot (93).png

There were Olin along with some Cultist peoples. The Cultist peoples are our enemy now as they tried to kill us and they're trying to take control of the fearsome machines to make the world more hell.

Screenshot (94).png

Screenshot (95).png

Screenshot (96).png

Screenshot (97).png

With the help of something, the Cultist leader has awaken some dead Demons and Olin was not happy with it.

Screenshot (98).png

Screenshot (99).png

Then Aloy was hearing an unknown caller talking to her and it looks like the unknown caller has deactivated the device that the Cultist leader was using.

Screenshot (100).png

Now I have to killed the Corruptors and all the Cultists alone although Olin was also fighting them from close.

Screenshot (101).png

Screenshot (102).png

I started fighting them and after some failed try, I understood that I need to use knowledge first and violence later.

Screenshot (103).png

It was hard but not impossible for me to take them down but it took me a lot of time.

Screenshot (105).png

After killing all the Cultists and the Corruptors, I went to Olin and Aloy had a conversation with him.
Then I forgave him for what he's done before after he game me some information.

Screenshot (109).png

And the quest was completed at that point.

The next chapter will be coming soon.
Screenshots are my take from the game and there's a logo that I used on the thumbnail picture.

SEE YOU.

I recommend adding your voice to your gameplays, that way you can keep the audience engaged. I'm waiting to buy my new gpu to give big games like these a try. I really fell in love with Aloy from the first moment I saw it. I look forward to the next chapter.

Actually I don't like to spoil the original sound of the game adding voices that's why I don't do it. Besides I don't have a microphone either. But I'll try to implement that suggestion.
Yes you should try this game out as its a fantastic one. And felling in love with Aloy is so natural as she looks beautiful.
I hope you've seen her as younger. If not, here is the younger Aloy,

I think she looked prettier at this age.

@tipu curate 6

Thank you boss.

The adventure does not disappoint. But I assure you, seeing your game, that I couldn't skip the missions and secondary areas, they are like a vice.

I guess you're talking about the side quests. Actually no other side missions interested me till this main mission as the latest side mission is about saving the family of Olin.
And now I'm thinking of completing some side missions first before take up with the main mission again.
Thanks for your comment.

It's a problem when I play. In games like this, I end up leaving the main quest behind and wandering around the map doing side quests and enjoying the scenery.

That's not a bad choice in my sense. Yes completing only the main quests helps you complete the game fast but you may miss a lot of good things doing that.
I'm going to try out the side quest of the Cyber Giraffe soon where I might need to jump on top of it.
Cheers.

This game looks pretty goddamn beautiful. Looks almost like you're battling or using transformer animals in a prehistoric world but with a future-apocalyptic style. Fantastic screenshots.

Yeah the gaming mechanism is somewhat different and this is the first of this kind that I played so far. I'm still confused whether its a sci-fi genre game or not lol. Thanks for your comment.

It's not TallNeck: Copper Deeps. It's cyber giraffe we all know that XD

Haha ok boss I'm with you.
I'll address it as Cyber Giraffe if I see it again. XD
