Hello all, have you ever dreamed of being an alchemist? That's how some people made a living many years ago. We even saw in high school classes that there were people who tried to find the elixir of immortality. We can't say that they were able to find it because we haven't met anyone immortal yet. I am also interested in making potions, of course not in real life XD I will share with you the game called Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, which I bought from Steam discounts.
I am a novice alchemist traveling around the world to discover our destiny. After a long journey, I finally found a place where I can trade. This is how our story begins. Since I'm a really novice alchemist and this is my first time playing this game, I didn't skip the tutorial.
The game starts by telling you how to make a potion in a cauldron. You can start by throwing the herb directly into the cauldron. This will change a lot later.
What you see on the bottom right is a mortar. You beat your herbs with it to make them much more potent. The one you see on the bottom left is a kind of a burner. You use it to finish your recipe after it is complete. Also here the game shows you how to save your recipes. I think this is a life-saving feature because you can't always remember the recipes for spells. You can improvise, but it's not going to be easy for mixed potions.
The purpose of making these potions is of course to sell them. People come and tell you their problems and you make potions accordingly. In the beginning they come for very easy potions. For example, a woman says her husband is sick and she wants a healing potion. The healing potion is made with 2 ingredients and it is very easy.
Another woman says that even though she has a cat in her house, mice are raiding the house and she wants a poison potion for that. We better help her otherwise the rats might eat everything in her house and even her house. Different potions have different prices and are made with different ingredients. You can also bargain with people and sell them for more. All you have to do on the bargaining screen is to click on the photos at the right moments, it's very easy.
Every day there are a certain number of customers and after they are finished you have to go to bed and sleep to start a new day. It's a simple but logical mechanic.
You can also go to the backyard of your shop and pick mushrooms and herbs whenever you want. Every day these items are replenished. I've never left anything there before so I don't know if it stays there for the next day. I harvest everything there every morning before looking for customers XD
Sometimes you may not understand what your customer wants. This happened to me a lot when I first started the game. I'm sure he asked me for a healing potion, but when I gave it to him, he refused. In this case, you can directly end the dialog and let the customer go without selling the product. Sorry, buddy! I don't have what you want!
As you can see, the value of the product increases the more ingredients you use. I negotiated 54 gold coins for a fire potion. Of course I increased the value by negotiation XD
You level up as you make different potions and complete quests. As you level up, you earn skill points. With these skill points, you can increase your visibility on the potion map and improve your bargaining skills. You will also receive different types of orders and encounter different customers as you level up.
This soldier came and told me he wanted to be as fast as a turtle. WTF? And he insists that turtles are fast. Some customers may ask not to have some ingredients in their potions. This customer said he would pay more for a potion without Windflower in it. Sorry man, but I don't think that's possible because that's the only ingredient I use in this potion XD
You may be wondering where alchemy fits in if we do everything to order in this way. This map shows the locations of the potions. You can see healing, speed, fire, poison etc. potions in the photo. When making a potion, each ingredient you add takes you in one direction. If you want, you can go outside the mold and explore the whole map using 20-30 ingredients. Be careful with the skulls you see! If the path to your potion touches them too much, your recipe will break and you will have to start over.
I played this game for about 5 hours and I can say that it was very enjoyable. I give the game a score of 8 out of 10. If you have played this game before, don't forget to let me know your opinions in the comments section. Thanks a lot for reading, take care and have a great day!
