Hi all, for a long time I've been talking in the comments about how I wanted to try a game with my girlfriend. I finally did it and I tried Ori and The Will of The Wisps with my girlfriend. And it's really incredible. Both my girlfriend and I loved it, so without further ado, let's get to the review!
Gameplay
The gameplay of this game felt very fluid to me. Even though my computer doesn't have a good graphics card, I didn't experience any freezes. The maps felt fun. You run from place to place and learn new abilities as you progress. Sometimes it's sticking to the wall, sometimes it's double jumping. Of course, this affects your progress on the map. Each new skill you learn allows you to go somewhere else on the map. I can say that this ensures that you never get bored with the game. I also played the game on normal difficulty and I thought it would be easy but it was not easy at all. I can say that I really struggled with the game. Which is good for me, because if I could do everything in one go, I wouldn't have much fun, right?
For example, there's a part where you're running away from this wolf and then you wound him and then you run away. My girlfriend and I tried this part 5 or 6 times and when we finally pushed the wolf back we felt like we had really accomplished something. That feeling of satisfaction is important in the game for me.
Story
I can't say I fully understand the story of the game because it's probably connected to the first game, but one thing I do know is that we heal a baby owl and then help it fly. After it starts flying, we go on an adventure with it and unfortunately we get caught in a storm. We get separated from each other in this storm and our goal is to find him. I can't comment much on this because I'm still at the beginning of the game.
Graphics and Environment Design
The graphics impressed me a lot in this game. I always say that. You don't need everything to be perfect in a game, but if you use the possibilities you have in a good way, you can create a masterpiece. I can say that this game has achieved that. Here I will share some screen shots with you and you can judge for yourself how mesmerizing it is. There is detail everywhere on the screen and it feels like you are in a real world. Because none of them are independent and disconnected from each other. I was really impressed by this world that is all part of each other. Everywhere from the details of the bushes to the leaves of the trees. Some companies don't pay attention to this, but I think it's important. Because every part of the game is very important for the whole. Here are some impressive screenshots:
Sound and Music
Honestly, that was one of the things I was most curious about in the game. Because a lot of people love the music of this game and I can say that I simply love it. The songs and sounds give you peace. This is not just my opinion. My girlfriend thinks the same way. And it's not only peaceful, for example in a scary moment the music changes and you get that mood. I can't get out of my mind the action music playing in the scene with the wolf above haha. Also the voices of the characters are good. When a squirrel speaks, it scratches your ear sweetly. When you talk to an old monkey, you realize that he is old from his voice. I know this should be in every game but it is still an important detail.
Final Thoughts
The game is a work of art for me. I played for 2 hours and I will continue to play. I can also say that it made my girlfriend love gaming. Today she asked me when we are going to play this game again. Mission accomplished my friends! I don't know what the next game we will play together will be. Anyway, let's not get off the subject, I can't say that I see anything wrong with the game, but I can write a final review post about the game after I finish the game and I can mention it there. My score for the game is 9 out of 10.
Have you tried this game? If not, how did your opinion about the game change after reading my post? Don't forget to share them with me in the comments. I hope you liked my post. Take care and have a great day!
