This may come as a shock to you but I used to game for 10-12 straight hrs in my college days. And the madness is such that I had to kind reprogram myself to break the gaming addiction. My computer had the NFS series, HitMan series, Warcraft and AOE series. Of these games, I am biased towards the RTS genre.
So recently I decided to get myself the games to try. I mean why not do something I used to love and see if the old flame is still there? And I went with the Age of Mythology retold a remastered version of the Age of Mythology from the early 2000’s.

And I must say things have changed a lot and we have advanced to such a level. I owned a CD of this game with Key back in the day. Installation used to be less painful and quick no internet connection was required. But that doesn't me everything is jolly good. Just a small scratch is enough to render the CD useless. And you would come to know that during the installation when the system throws an error. Anyway, now everything is online and with a few clicks, you can have the game installed in your system directly.
Once the installation was completed I couldn’t stop myself and directly jumped in on the game. Since it is a remastered version of the old game. All the memories are coming back it feels good.
The game menu looks a little different with some new features which I am yet to explore but I am planning on doing it sometime later tomorrow. And as soon as I hit the campaign mode, I lost my sense of time… Hehe. That's what a game you like will do to you. I remember @bala41228 sharing a similar experience with the World of Warcraft. Anyway, it was such a nostalgic trip for me to have this game. I believe there are many games from the 2000s that are still rocking and fun to play. I am planning on exploring them a little more. I may check out the Blizzard work and some Racing games. FPS is my thing, I mean I played CS and IGI but all the constant camera shifting makes me dizzy. Even the racing at times gives me headaches.
I started my gameplay with the Atlantean Campaign where the hero Arkantos, who is chasing pirates in the campaign 4asked to join the siege of Troy. The game has elements of History (Not very accurate) and of course Mythology. The current campaign follows the Greek adventure. I should get the gameplay as a story mode post here too. Let's hope I dont get lost and forget to capture screens during the gameplay. Because there is a good chance of not capturing screenshots during intense games.
Hey Folk,
And this is the first time I am writing a game-related post. Let me correct myself, PC gaming post. It's fun revisiting the childhood games. I am off to play some more. Let us meet again soon
