At the moment my gaming time is spent between Minecraft and Destiny 2. And soon my time will be spent insanely bashing my fingers against the keyboard for an entire month while trying to write a funny, immature story. 😱 Just throwing that out there in case someone might be interested in reading nonsense every day. xD
Anyway!
It's my partner's night-shift night this week so there hasn't been much Destiny 2 playing (but we did end up buying the Witch Queen expansion) so there has been plenty of time for Minecrafting!
I spent quite a few hours yesterday just digging tunnels upon tunnels in hopes of finding diamonds, only to stumble into caverns instead. I like when there are conveniently placed creepers in the middle of things. I don't even have to swing my sword, just move up a little, then move back, and let the creeper take them all out. xD
After a while of finding nothing, and with the promise of a pet fox if/when I make or find a lead, I decided to hurry up and start building my house so that my Future Fox will have somewhere to call home.
I'm terrible when it comes to building in Minecraft. I can go weeks just living in my mine and gathering thousands of materials before I start building. But since I'd already dug a big square in a public place, and with the promise of a cute little pet fox, I felt more inclined to actually build sooner rather than later. 😅
I suck at roofs. But I will see what I can do as I continue on with this small build later.
Today, with the basics of my house complete, I continued mining... and at last I found what I had been searching for! Diamonds!
There is something I've noticed when it comes to mining for diamonds and this is how I found them this time too; but I've personally found that if you are facing North or South when you are mining, you are more likely to find diamonds in your branch-tunnels.
I had spent houuurrrssss digging tunnels East and West, then decided to just go North, and voila! I now have 36 diamonds on my person.
I'm not sure if that's actually a real thing in the game or not, but it's happened to me far too often now to be a coincedence. Dig North or South for best diamond chances.
I'm still Alex for some reason. It greatly annoys me. When I very first logged on, on my first day on the server, Perceval said, "nice skin" to me and now I'm wondering if that was sarcasm because I have default Alex 😆 or if he can actually see my peasant and there's something wrong with my client instead.
With my house mostly built up -- minus windows, a roof, and decorations -- I decided to dig a hole in my floor and make a giant tunnel all the way to my base of mining operations.
It's just an ugly tunnel at the moment, but I'm planning on decorating it with black wool or black cement walls and a glowstone spiral. Make the trip to my mines funky. xD
I decided that I wanted to make my roof out of Dark Oak wood, so I went on an adventure to find some. The very first day I logged in, I walked into a dark oak forest near the shop... but for the life of me, I couldn't find it again.
I even built a giant pillar so I could look around the land, and I couldn't see it.
I did, however, find a flower biome. So decided to just grab a bunch of flowers, a stack of berries, some sand, and some clay. So the adventure wasn't entirely in vain. Bringing the goods back home, I set forth on another adventure! I needed dark oak wood!
Then finally, on the outskirts of a swamp at about 3000, 3000... there, in the distance, stood some dark oak and giant mushrooms.
For once I wasn't looking for an area to call home, but a place to chop some wood. So I scurried over and chopped and chopped until my axe nearly broke. 😅 And also grabbed plenty of saplings so I could grow my own.
Since I was so far from home, I decided to keep exploring. And not getting Explorer XP even though I quit the Digger job to join the Explorer job. 😑🙁 So that either meant that someone else had travelled the exact same path as I had, and not looted the untouched village I past, or the pillager tower, or this broken portal... or the Explorer job isn't working. (@therealflaws, @perceval)
In the broken portal chest was a clock, helmet, fire charge, and the most ridiculous hoe I had ever seen. XD
Still, I took it and continued on.
Until night fell... and for some reason the bed I carried with me decided not to work.
So I quickly /home'd and slept there instead. xD At least that worked. And I now had plenty of dark oak wood!! It was time to put some finishing touches on my house.
As I said before, I'm terrible when it comes to roofs. But I don't think it looks that bad at least! Debating about adding one more round of quartz slabs around the top... hmmmmmmm. Decisions decisons. I'm not sure if that'll make it look as though there's too much white, but how it is, it looks as though something is missing.
Hmmmm.
While I was working on my house, my neighbour @brataka stopped by and graciously offered me an enchanting table as a housewarming present. 😁 I already had my bookshelves all set up and ready to go, so I was very thankful! ❤️
With my house mostly sorted (except for minor decorating), it was time to go back to mining and gaining XP so I could start enchanting a bunch of stuff.
And, of course, find more diamonds. 🤩
Actually, gaining XP... this is the perfect excuse to start work on my Cave Spider XP Farm... assuming, of course, that the mine shafts I found have a couple of Cave Spider spawners hidden in there somewhere.
I might work on that tomorrow! 😄 And a little fenced-in kennel area for my Future Fox.
Until next time!!! 😊🌲⛏️
