In my last My Time at Sandrock post, Lily finished constructing the bridge that would allow the town access to the vast, wide desert and started exploring the new region.
There was new wood to find, new metals and new minerals! Also new beasties to tame so they could go water-hunting for her. Not long after the bridge had been built however, the water tower exploded and Logan was seen fleeing from the flaming remains. Coincidence? We will see!
Before Lily could start work on the water tower, she had to find Mi'an. It was going to be a big job! It would take the two of them to get the water tower fixed in a timely manner, before it was all too late.
She found Mi'an with Elsie, who was trying to convince her that Logan was innocent.
Everso curious about this Logan character, Lily helped the pair break into Logan's old house and rummage through his belongings to see if there was anything that could prove his innocence. Or at least tell them why he was doing what he was doing.
The Girl Patrol didn't find anything concrete, but there were plenty of interesting tidbits here and there hidden in the house that painted a clearer picture of Logan. A monster hunter alongside his father, looked up to in town, and then... turned outlaw.
There had to be a reason!
Lily asked all around town for any information in regards to Logan. Who was he and why had he turned violent outlaw? But there was no real answer.
And there was no time to focus on the questions now anyway; there was a water tower to rebuild! Now that the bridge had been fixed, water was being delivered any day now and they needed a place to store it.
Luckily, because Lily is a Resource Goblin who Hoards All The Things, there was enough materials stashed away to whip up a new, better, stronger water tower in no time.
All was well once more.
Until the next disaster inevitably struck. 👀
Winter came and along with it came amazing news. Lily had the topped ranked workshop in all the region!
And then Lily's best friend from her old city decided to come and visit!
And then the Mayor who Lily had never met before decided to come back to Sandrock, and the treacherous hag lovely old Minister was no longer in charge of the town.
All sorts of nice things were happening! But after the events of the past couple of months where disaster was always but a second away, Lily remained on edge.
Many uneventful days passed by. Lily started to believe that maybe no more disasters were going to strike at them. Maybe the run of bad luck was finally over.
The mayor called for Lily and Mi'an to stop by the moisture farm and told them about some strange algae she had come across on her travels. She wanted to gather some up and study it, certain that it could possibly help Sandrock reclaim some of the desert and transform it into a lush paradise.
It was in a dangerous ruin though and they would need protective suits.
In order to make these protective suits, Lily needed to grow a lot of jute, then process the jute into a canvas material that she could then combine with plastic to make some personal protection equipment!
The jute wouldn't be fully grown for some time...
So she had plenty of time to fight, mine, gather, build, create, and make all the money so she could finally buy her very own horse!
While there are always horses available at the ranch to buy or rent, I wanted my little lady to have a black horse! Which, apparently is a rarer colour than the brown horses, because every time the ranch refreshed there were only brown horses.
So, at this time, she still doesn't have a horse. XD But she does have $42,000 and counting.
At this rate, she'll definitely have more than enough gold to purchase the horse of her dreams once the time comes.
Finally, the jute had grown and Lily could make some canvas as a base for the required protection equipment for herself and Mi'an.
The Personal Protection Equipment was ready, and now it was time to go hazardous ruin diving for strange, possibly pathogenic, algae that could help them bring life to the desert.
They would embark upon their adventure... tomorrow!
Until next time! 🌵🌞
