New Reward Cards that I Like - Splinterlands

in #hive-1402173 months ago

Welcome to another post of mine about Splinterlands, where I share new things about my favorite NFT game that I have been playing for quite some time.

The next season is exciting because new Reward Cards will be released, along with new abilities that will once again change the gameplay of our favorite game, Splinterlands.

Some lucky players have already seen these cards early and were kind enough to share them with the public so we can also know what to expect in the game.

Let's start with the new abilities that will be introduced, so when you see a new ability icon, you won't get confused:

New Abilities

Mimic - This ability allows your card to copy an ability from your opponent's card. Cool, right? You mimic the ability that your opponent has.

Corrupted Healing - This is also a healing ability, but every time you heal using this ability, your max health will decrease by 1. So I think we need to be careful when using cards with this ability, especially if you have cards with low health at the start of the battle.

Execute - Another great ability because when a card with this ability attacks and reduces the opponent's health to 2 after a successful attack, your unit will attack again. So, based on the name of this ability, it's truly an execution. Hahaha!!!

Wing Break - This ability targets flying units regardless of the ruleset and abilities. The harsh part is that if the target is a flying unit, there's a +2 bonus damage, so flying units should be careful not to get hit by a card with this ability.

The new abilities are amazing, right? To be honest, I don't like the Corrupted Healing ability, I don't know in which situation it would be advantageous in a battle. But the other three new abilities are great for me.

As for the new cards, I saw it on X in one of @bulldog1205 's post

I won't mention all the cards that will be released, I'll only mention the ones I think I would like to use in battles.

New Cards

This is an Epic Earth unit with a melee attack. Its abilities at max level are impressive, and I think it will play a significant part in winning battles. It has Opportunity, Execute, Lookout, and Trample abilities. These are the abilities you want in a melee attack unit. It has 4 attack power, which is strong damage. When it's time for this unit to attack, it seems like it can finish off the opponent. Usually, the target of Opportunity is the one with the weakest health, so when it attacks, the opponent's health will likely drop to 2, triggering the Execute ability. And with its 4 attack power, the opponent is defeated. The great thing is that it has Trample, which means it will attack again, right? So it seems like the battle will end quickly when you're using this unit.

An Epic Fire Element card that I think I will like and will try to use. I'm not a fan of ranged attack units, but because it has 6 attack power and a Piercing ability, this unit will surely deal damage. What I also like about it is that even though it only consumes 2 mana, it has 5 health. Most 2-mana cards have low health, but luckily this one has decent health.

It also has Debilitations with Burning, which reduces 2 health each round. What's worse is that this burning spreads to adjacent cards, and if you're unlucky, the adjacent cards get affected. The opponent is doomed, especially if the ruleset is Aimless. They're done for!

I hope you liked my reaction post to some of the new cards that will be released. These are the ones I chose that I think will make battles more challenging in the next season.
