Hoy quiero ser su Charles Xavier y traerles un bonito recuerdo, por eso quiero hablarles sobre el conocidísimo juego de estrategia, perfecto para aprender sobre historia y mitología, con dinámicas geniales y graficos muy buenos para la época, nada más y nada menos que AGE OF MYTHOLOGY (Sonidos de truenos y tambores de guerra).

Por alguna extraña razón mi cerebro activo a tope el filtro de nostalgia y por ello me puse a buscar videojuegos o películas de la década del 2000, y ¿Cómo no iba a buscar este juegazo de primero? Personalmente este juego me gusta más que el Age of Empire, ya que me llama mucho la atención el asunto de la mitología y por si eso no fuese suficiente, la expansión de “The Titans” hace que me llame mucho más la atención, también me gustan mucho las mecánicas que tiene este juego y el Empires no, como por ejemplo los favores divinos, y las habilidad otorgadas por los Dioses.
For some strange reason my brain activated the nostalgia filter to full and so I started looking for video games or movies of the 2000s, and how could I not look for this great game first? Personally I like this game more than Age of Empire, because it calls my attention the mythology issue and if that was not enough, the expansion of "The Titans" makes me much more attention, I also like the mechanics that this game has and Empires does not, such as divine favors, and the ability granted by the Gods.

Este juego se centra más en despertar tu curiosidad para que tú por cuenta propia investigues acerca de los mitos aquí relatados, si decides no hacerlo, igual tendrás una idea de varios nombres de héroes, criaturas, Dioses, y ciudades antiguas.

Voy ser honesto y pueden reírse si quieren, pero yo no sabía que este juego tenía una campaña, ya que cuando lo conocí fue por un amigo que me invito a jugarlo y así derrotarme por yo no saber nada del juego mientras que él lo había jugado por años, luego descubrí que no es solo una, sino una por cada civilización, es decir, la versión “The Titans” tiene 4 campañas y no son campañas cortas, así que si deseas completar el juego al 100% antes de ponerte a jugar te espera una buena cantidad de horas frente a la pc.

Los Griegos, por su parte, tienen una gran variedad de unidades “Heroicas” las cuales tienen mayor ventaja ante las unidades de tipo mitológicas, estas unidades son los héroes de los mitos históricos que todos conocemos, Perseo, Teseo, Hércules, Belerofonte, etc. Pero si de unidades heroicas hablamos los atlantes son quienes tienen la ventaja, ya que ellos no tienen unidades heroicas per se cómo el resto de civilizaciones, sino que ellos por un precio, pueden transformar cualquier unidad humana en un héroe, una ventaja muy grande si tienes abundantes recursos.

I mentioned before that the first time I played it was with a friend and I already mentioned that it has its campaigns, but in addition to this there is the option of "Single Player" where you can prepare confrontations with NPC's to test your skills, but do not trust, these NPC's are not a joke and become really annoying, due to the time without playing I decided to do it in moderate mode and with some civilizations it costs me to win sometimes, also the expansion "The Titans" adds the difficulty "Titan" which is just crazy. You can choose to play a 1vs1, 2vs2, team, all against all or all against you, plus you have the possibility to choose between 1 to 11 other players.
Ya anteriormente mencione que la primera vez que lo jugué fue con un amigo y ya mencioné que tiene sus campañas, pero además de esto esta opción de “Un jugador” donde podrás preparar enfrentamientos con NPC´s para poner a prueba tus habilidades, pero no te confíes, estos NPC´s no son un chiste y llegan a ser realmente molestos, yo debido al tiempo sin jugar decidí hacerlo en el modo moderado y con algunas civilizaciones me cuesta ganar a veces, además la expansión “The Titans” añade la dificultad “Titán” el cual es simplemente una locura. Puedes elegir jugar un 1vs1, 2vs2, por equipos, todos contra todos o todos contra ti, además de tener la posibilidad para escoger entre 1 a 11 otros jugadores.

This game has an incredible attention to detail, ie in the visual section you can see the different types of weapons and projectiles of each unit, if you zoom in enough, you can see how the units fall and die with an agonizing scream, no, not that they just disappear and that's it, all units have characteristic sounds, ie, A Nemean Lion does not make the same sound as a scorpion man and the units that can speak have a dialogue for each action, from walking to a place to do nothing, to the orders of construction, collection and attack, all this in their own language, that is, the Greeks speak in Greek, the Egyptians in Egyptian and so on with each civilization, something that is really appreciated, I personally got stuck many of these phrases and used them randomly in my day to day.
Este juego tiene una atención a los detalles increíble, es decir en el apartado visual puedes ver los distintos tipos de armas y proyectiles de cada unidad, si haces el suficiente zoom, puedes ver como las unidades caen y mueren con un grito agonizantes, no, no es que simplemente desaparecen y ya, todas las unidades tienen sonidos característicos, es decir, un León de Nemea no hace el mismo sonido que un hombre escorpión y las unidades que pueden hablar tienen un dialogo para cada acción, desde caminar a un lugar para no hacer nada, hasta para las ordenes de construcción, recolección y ataque, todo esto en su debido idioma, es decir, los griegos hablan en griego, los egipcios en egipcio y así con cada civilización, algo que en verdad se aprecia, a mí personalmente se me pegaron muchas de estas frases y las usaba al azar en mi día a día.

I personally love this kind of strategy games, maybe later I will talk about Age Of Empire, or the expansion "Tale of the Dragon" of this same game, or maybe Rise of Nations, but definitely this game will keep you glued to the seat, it will make you angry when you are besieged, get excited to corner your opponents and feel all-powerful to release the fury of the titans, no doubt a game full of emotions if you enjoy strategy games, of course.

A mí personalmente me encantan este tipo de juegos de estrategia, quizás después hable del Age Of Empire, o de la expansión “Tale of the Dragon” de este mismo juego, o quizás de Rise of Nations, pero en definitiva este juego te mantendrá pegado al asiento, te hará enfadarte cuando te veas sitiado, emocionarte al acorralar a tus oponentes y sentirte todopoderoso al liberar la furia de los titanes, sin dudas un juego lleno emociones si disfrutas de los juegos de estrategia, claro está.
A estas alturas si no has jugado el juego y yo no he logrado convencerte con mis palabras, creo que no hay nada más que pueda decirte para hacerte probar el juego, pero en definitiva deberías hacerlo, si ya lo tienes te invito a que juguemos una partida, ya sea como compañeros de equipo o como oponentes.
