Hey everyone 👋!

Been a minute since I talked about games. The last time I did was talking about Baldur’s Gate 3 act III where I eventually decided to halt the gameplay and since these days I am looking for something more relaxing, I decided to pick up Graveyard Keeper again.

Graveyard Keeper in a nutshell.

Graveyard keeper is basically a “ I transform into another world” game where you start as a graveyard keeper in a strange land filled with dubious characters. In this game, your core mission is to get back into your wife where she is in the other world. To get to her, you have to activate something called the portal. Before getting into this portal, there are plenty of quests from NPC characters all around the village and the town. So, do you get what it takes to be a good graveyard keeper and go back to your loved ones ?

Gameplay in a nutshell

This game is a mixture between harvest moon /stardew valley and sim management. It includes things like managing a graveyard, harvesting crops, as well as managing zombie workers/slaves that will work in your farm. Apparently, according to this website linked below, you need 57 hours to complete the game with all styles. It isn’t too long considering that it is just less than a week. However, due to some parts of it that are pretty mundane, you will probably spend an hour to 2 hours top in this game.

Graphic and technical stuff

This game has pixelated graphics and is one of those typical relaxing games. It only costs $5 during sale and has a minimum requirement to play that is pretty reasonable. You only need 4GB ram memory to be able to play this game with the minimum processor of core i5. So, if your laptop are newer ones with core i5, high likely they’ll run the game just fine.

Pros and Cons of this game

I had a few different saves from my early play but the one thing I used to hate was constant grinding and the option to travel/transport is very limited. You can purchase a teleportation machine but it only travels to certain areas. So, good luck walking when the area isn’t covered in the teleportation machine. Another thing that I dislike is constant grinding that somehow your character has to work extremely hard in the first few days of the game. But after you can unlock Zombie slaves, you can automate some parts of the game.

The good thing about the game is that it’s cozy to play. You can also play this game with a console just fine and sleep while playing it. It’s the kind of game that you play when you don’t want to play anything too serious and need some laughs.

The conversations in this game are unique and off beat. Your character can eat corpse meat as well as burning witches. You can opt not to eat corpse meat but the food options can be pretty limited and you got no choice but to be a cannibal in this game.

Gameplay no commentary

I uploaded a gameplay of it, especially the first day on youtube. It has the basics of everything. I might need to give a commentary and do some edit but for now, this is the teaser to this game. I haven’t uploaded anything in a while over my youtube channel and this will be the game that I’ll try to be more consistent. So, don’t forget to subscribe over there as well if you want to see how my characters ended up!

Should you get this game ?

I definitely would recommend this game if you enjoy any chill & pixelated game. However, this game can be quite a grind, so you might not like that aspect. But for $5, it’s one of the games that you can casually play and enjoy. The offbeat story is one of a kind too and you can laugh while trying to do some of the quests of the game. I am not sure if this game is available in another platform than STEAM but it certainly is available there and GoG too. At the moment this game is 75% on sale, so the best time to grab this game while you can!

I love games about crafting things, sowing, harvesting, this one has the style of Stardew Valley, but its graphics look so relaxing that it makes you want to play it. Good review, thanks for sharing.

The graphic is definitely pretty relaxing. I am sure it's a lot cheaper in places like GoG so when you can, definitely get this game.

The dialogues caught my attention! 😂
The great thing about playing games is I can be whatever I wanna be. A cannibal? Lol.
I’ve been searching for games similar to Stardew Valley and this is my first time I’ve stumbled upon Graveyard Keeper. Now it’s already on my wishlist 😄

There's so many questionable conversation in this game haha. It's definitely like Stardew except you're also tending for the graveyard, hold ceremonial and even work with witches too. Get them especially now they're on sale😄
