The next best thing: Gaming - Golem Overlord

in #hive-1402172 days ago

There are much more profitable games than Splinterlands on Hive, and quite a few others outside Hive ecosystem. A few people were asking about it, and I have this bad habit of getting annoyed if I am to explain something more than five times, so I usually make a blog post and provide the link, next time when I am asking.

Today subject is the Golem Overlord game made by the wonderful people which are behind the Splexx.GG website (Splinterlands statistics, rental and more). What is Golem Overlord?

This is a game where you have the ability to use golems to gather real crypto tokens, passive, connected with your total number of golems, and active, by attacking others and by solving daily quest. As you do that, your level increases. Let's see how you start:

First, if you are not already on the Hive blockchain, you may need to create a Hive account in order to play the game. Then you can go to the Golem Overlord game website and log in. These are your stats, in the upper left corner: " " \"image.png\"""

Just a quick review about how each of them influence your career and skills in the order of appearance.

  • Scavenger Golems - the more you have the more of the in-game tokens - Part/Shard you collect.
  • Power - this one shows how strong is your attack.
  • Fortification - obviously, this one is the strenght of your defence. When someone is attacking, the power needs to be better than the fortification level in order to have the best chance to win the battle.
  • Golem Charging Station - upgrading this one increases the total number of the golems that you can control, and increase a multiplier of your scavenging (collecting tokens).
  • Fate - important stat that determine how much tokens you steal, or lose when attacked. Also, increases your maximum Shard stash.
  • Banked stash/Staked PART - determine the total amount of PART tokens that you scavenge/minewhile you are offline.

These are the main attributes, but we also have something called Prestige, determining your maximum level, while in the same time it is improving stats like your level, maximum stash, max reputation conversion, claim multiplier, NFT rarity (the ones you get from daily quest) and the tier of the daily quests (the higher it is, better rewards you get).

Now, you realize that you need to increase your prestige, how would you do it? Well, you have something called Reputation, where you can burn PART tokens for Reputation, and you have a max level, that increases as you improve your skills. The Reputation slowly decreases over time, providing XP in exchange, the experience needed to increase your level. Doing quests also increases your experience.

Then, you have your Energy, that you use when you battle other players. The energy is refilling at a speed linked to your level, and your maximum Energy is dependant on your Power and Fortification level.

in the center of the screen we have statistics showing how much PART and SHARD tokens you mined, the claim multiplier, the time remaining until you can claim and quick link access tab.

 " "image.png""

As you can see, the Base Claim has a multiplier factor, that is linked to your Rank, Guild bonus, Prestige, Charging station and Guild research. Increasing all these skills will provide you with more crypto when you claim your stash. The time remaining is self-explanatory, and you have 3 Claim option, Short, Normal and Longer, as you can see below, each of them with unique advantages and disadvantages.

Personally I prefer the Short Claim, even if it is reduced by 20%, if I am online, as increasing your stash too much will make others attack you, losing quite a bit of the resources mined. They are not yours until you claimed them. But when I am on holiday or away from my computer, I will use Normal or even Longer Claim, combined with some Potion, Essences and Scouts, to boost my defence. All those NFTs mentioned before, you are ussually getting them from Daily quests, or you can buy them from the Market. As I mentioned the Market, let's see what the quick access tab provides.

In the middle, above the Claim statistics, we have 5 buttons. First of them is Battle, opening this screen:

Here you can select the strenght of your enemies, see how much tokens you can steal, and attack the ones that are not previously engaged. Next button is Inventory:

In this screen you can see your equipment, classic stuff, with Helmet, Body Armor, Belt, Weapon and so on. Under the Equipment, you have a list of all the NFTs that you got in our inventory. Clicking on them activates other options such as Use, Sell, and Destroy for ingredients.

Third button is Market, where you can buy and sell you NFT, for Hive token. To find more about Hive, read this post.

The next button is the Shop, where you can buy different packs, that are selling now. For the older packs, you need to go on the Market.

The last button gives you acces to your settings, where you can set up some of your preferences.

This is the minimum of information that you need before you start, but I will add another 2 important features, first one being the daily quests tab, lower right on the screen. Clicking on it will activate the Quest screen, where you can check the quest requirements. As you can see, you can have a maximum of 3 daily quests, and the higher the tier, the bigger the rewards. Some of them are impossible to do, without high expenses, you can just cancel them when you have 3 already, in order to get another quest.

The second important bit is the guild, where you have different buildings where you can research a variety of upgrades, using Research points, where all the guild members can use the Research points wherever they need, and the finished upgrades provide permanent boosts for all the guild members.

To complicate it a bit more, there is a game inside the game, called Conquest mode, where you battle other players using specific golems, in a manner similar to Heroes of Might and Magic (or Splinterlands, if you are born after 1999).

The game just entered in Beta mode, read more about it in @golem.overlord last post, link bellow:

I think we still have 1 free spot in our guild, if you are quick enough to join. If not, if you have any other questions, just comment of this post, and if I know the answer, I will help you.

Good luck!
